This has nothing to do with the launcher.. On the Mac version of the game, the game automatically updates fine to the latest patch and so does the launcher... I can drag & drop the .pack file then it opens some kind of installer but at 100% says there was an error.. I guess it checks if you are actually logged in to your account and thus the pkg is directly tied to your account ? Possible

But i doubt the installed files are tied to the account, or could it be ?

The launcher tries to get a manifest file and perform a validation. It's in partly obfuscated .NET , not my cup of tea.

That website has been updated a bit, now has most items.
http://mavrev.com/hosted/sims/

EDIT: For "Riverview" perhaps you need to be logged in, and when launcher detects your profile it checks serial and such for validation?

EDIT: Some items give actual icons in the launcher window and can be installed (Blocking the program from outside communications first.) perhaps someone with a legal copy could upload their version of the launcher for comparison?

I've been on the EA forums and the EA Store is already having technical issues, which is no surprise. People and myself have tried to download some of the free content, but when you try to install it, you get an error. I'm going to guess that files on EA store's server are corrupt. And no EA moderator etc is even letting people know that they are trying to fix the issues.

Some people are not even getting their free sim points. Honestly I don't blame people one bit for pirating EA's shit. The obviously don't give a rats ass about the consumers, yet EA bitches and whines about profit loss to pirate's. Gee I fucking wonder why EA!

Yes I do understand that the game was just released, but still they could have tested stuff.

That large 75 MB file is the actual riverview world and can be placed in that folder if named properly (Riverview.world or something.) some other files will be required however or it won't work.
(Listed previously, also all installed item addons are merged together into that DB0 file from what I've noticed.)

That utility linked to there also manages to make most other packs installable. Smile

EDIT: Correction, they all work.

Unsure but I've only used the http://mavrev.com/hosted/sims/ site along with the utility linked to in the above article (Already had the car.) and so far everything (Including Riverview) has installed correctly.

Yes just use that utility to fix the package beforehand. Smile
(Drag/Drop package over utility and the use launcher to install it, might want to block launcher via firewall.)

Those compilation packs seem to be deleted from the above site now, got everything aside from the TIKI one though.

EDIT: Seems everything aside from the .world file is stored in the "dcdb0.dbc" so don't delete it or you'll need to reinstall all packs again, can delete the pack files in the backup folder though.

Ah I only meant that the TIKI, Story and such item compilation packs were gone, unsure about the others, been downloading as they get added as it seems it's very easy to delete the files.

EDIT: Don't have the TIKI one but I can probably upload the others.

EDIT: Found some other stuff to add.

I just acquired another version of Riverview (came as two RARs and a DCC.rar too - extracted gave the world files as well as the database and object cache) - works fine on Reloaded's release.

I'm heading out for munchies now, will try more when I get back.

Just to be sure,

You use the riverview.sims3pack (from http://mavrev.com/hosted/sims/) and the tool is CompressorizerRedux0.1.1 ?

I patch the sims3pack with that tool but when I install it it always says that my game not updated. I use razor and update it to 1.0.632.00002

What I'm missing here?

ps: i manage to install other stuff nicely, only riverview that unable to install. Haven't try the tiki pack though...
