guess i have to find a deal on ME (or a cheap key) to get that DLC... it looks great, very demoscene styled, which apparently DICE used to be a part of

I need some help badly with this.

i installed the game and applied the crack but when i start it up my monitor turns black with a message that says:

Analog
Out of range
74.9 khz/60 hz

why does it do that? i'm pretty sure the game runs but my monitor doesn't show anything.. i have plenty of games already on like crysis:warhead, GTA4 etc. with no problems whatsoever.

specs: phenom II 920/4850/3GB ram

and a standard which ever size the max resolution of 1440x900 is on an LCD monitor.

edit: ok i know now it has to do with the screen's refresh rate... i've tried changing it to 50-75 on the desktop but still no go when i start the game. anyone know of a fix?

Seems like a refresh rate problem, game tries for 74 (75) hertz whereas your monitor is for 60 Hz so you need to find the config folder where the game stores it's settings and tweak it manually to correct it, unsure what causes this bug though, monitor drivers perhaps?

They should be in the User/My Documents directory followed by your username and either AppData for Vista or Application Data for XP (Might be in /Local/ after that for Vista as well) followed by EA and then a Mirrors Edge folder, hopefully I got that correct as I don't have it installed anymore (Completed everything a while ago.)

Open the INI file called engine something and search for the refresh rate or if you know it the resolution used and tweak either the resolution to something your monitor can handle at that refresh rate (And then properly fix it in the game settings.) or lower the refresh rate value in the INI.

yay i fixed it.. i found a fix via google(don't you hate when the answer pops up during a search AFTER you've already posted about the problem?) and you were right about the refresh rate which is set to 1600x1200 by default when installing.

fucking weird if you ask me but nevertheless thx for trying.

Awesome game, only a little too short: I found it new for only €19,90 and the PC version includes an Audio CD with Lisa Miskovsky's song "Still Alive" and 5 remixes.

bought it for $16 CAD at EBgames, dying for that DLC, so i'll get that while the canadian $ is high compared to us (ea store, etc)

people have been playing the dlc maps by extracting them & replacing the tutorial though

too bad ps3 gets 1 extra map in the dlc

Well, if you don't mind, you could always upload it for us beggars...

But is the DLC only for time trails? Nothing else? Not sure if it is worth the money.

7 time trials, i dont think they are from the sp, 3 of them for sure are demoscene inspired (abstract blocks, vivid colors, not the cityscape, DICE started out as demoscene before games)

times have global stats i think

& it's uploaded months ago at the bay (double joke here, 'the bay' is a retail store in canada)

Cool, saw it, thanks! But yeah, kinda defeats the purpose of time trials if the only thing you do is run around lol. Smile

I hear the editor is working for this game, so might download again (deleted after completing) to see what is possible to do in the editor.

the DLC works with the pirated version RELOADED? i mean if i buy only the DLC (6,99 euros) can i apply it on the pirated version or you anyway need a valid serial of the game base?

Why not download the DLC and do that tutorial-replacing thingy ?

A few extra challenges sounds unworthy of a purchase, plus the game is short.

didn't know about this. seems somewhat of a hassle, though, since you have to keep replacing some files whenever you wanna play a different level and you get booted back to the main menu every time you die..

finded that instructions on TPB. it let you play only a level a time and without time trial. is not a proper crack but better of nothing. i am no care about this pack anyway it is only 7 bonus maps

What if the same method is used, but on a time challenge map? Maybe that will allow for the time triggers. Smile

i'll try that tomorrow, it's downloading now. all i'm hoping for is not to have to restart the level everytime i die, 'cause that would suck. badly.

Now that the game has finally reached 2.000.000 sales and they announced a Mac version, hopefully the announcement of a sequel won't be too far away.

Langdell is a fucking boil on the gaming industry, with his pathetic lawsuits against anyone using the word "edge" for any means whatsoever. I'm glad the retarded asshole went after EA, now he can get chewed the fuck out in courts and - hopefully - lose any and all trademarks he owns on the word "edge"

Goddamn muppet.

Scary isn't it? What's even scarier is that he's WON all his other suits. He's the reason why Namco had to rename Soul Edge in the UK.

Actually, my bad.. it was UK, Australia and North America Wink either way; Langdell is a cunt and I truly hope he loses those trademarks permanently. All that company has done for the last decade is live off the profits from patent/trademark infringement suits.
