Works fine if thats what you're asking.
I can't get into this at all. The fighting feels so fragmented with no flow to it. It might be purely as I'm coming into this off the back of Fight Night 4 which is super smooth and flows like liquid. |
I think it would be VERY difficult to make an MMA game flow as easily as boxing does. There's too many elements to it. It would be impossible.
But I agree with you. Fight Night 4 is far superior in terms of game play and atmosphere (and graphics). But as far as watching on tv, I will watch an MMA match over boxing.

I am playing in practice and watching those numbers when you punch why is my right leg and arm doing more damage then the left? I am using my created player, I didn't see any option to choose right or left handed fighter, is it the stance maybe because it is orthodox (right handers) I am dealing more damage with my right because it is further back.
Does this mean that every fighter in the game will deal more damage with his right leg and arm, didn't see any lefties or southpaw in the game yet.

yeah, I guess creating the flow would be hard. TBH, FN3 didn't exactly do it well so its a recent thing in combat sports.
Regarding the southpaw. Does it even give you the option of going southpaw as opposed to orthodox? If so, can you change stance mid-match? I kickbox IRL and continuelly swap from othodox to southpaw.

What skill do I need to boost if I use Judo and want to bring down opponents to the ground, 'Takedown offense' or do I need 'Clinch grapple offense'? First I need to grab them in a clinch then preform that judo throw.

Clinch grapple offense should be the right one

You can't do the high kick if your not skilled enough in that area, just like some fighters can't do the superman punch with their fists (LB+x or y).

That game is much complicated... I can't get the hang of all those grapple moves.

For the love of ... I can't pull of the rear naked choke you need to pull it of in the classical Griffin-Shogun (I think) match in the 3'rd round, I beat him up until then on the body, he gets tired as well but I still can't pull it of, probably his submission is to low or Shogun has submission defense too high.

Best fighting game for me but it does have one annoying console trait.. that fucking black loading screen, on the pc this would go smooth as butter but here it's every time you change the menu some fucking shit need to be loaded, doesn't the xbox have any memory to load all that shit from the start? And saving my god.. every time you finish sparring it takes him 20 seconds to save for some fucking reason, bad menus and saving why does it need to check if I pulled out the hard drive every time I save.

I think it's like for example FIFA or NHL, if you're into the sport you'll play it. But if you're not a particular fan, you'd enjoy a match or two. Just you won't play it under any longer time. So in that particular case it's more of a fanservice to anyone who are into UFC and MMA.

ok if they have you down on the mat and you're using the right stick to try and get up, which skill set to need to improve on?
i was doing ok with it but with the guys i'm paired up against now it doesn't seem to matter what i do they have no problem keeping me down. seems like one time when my back is to the left that down-downleft-left gets me out of it and then 15 seconds later when i'm taken down again that same motion doesn't, he just keeps "hugging" the guy instead of pushing him off or kicking him off, etc.

well ok i can answer my own question for anyone else that might look here about which directions you turn the right stick. easiest thing to do is once they get you down and get situated (ie while they aren't re-positioning), pause the game and check your action options. it will show you the hold/position you are currently in and you can flick the left stick for offensive and defensive actions. i managed to beat a tough opponent earlier by decision from using that to figure out which way to move the stick to get free.

I'm middleweight champion with 11 games unbeat woo, this is when it gets harder now and I know it does as my last retired fighter lost about 5 fights after becoming heavyweight champion. I'm still enjoying this game it's a blast.

Really enjoying the multiplayer in this game. Or I was, now every prick is quiting early. Nothings worse then fighting a tough match, locking in a submission in the dying seconds of the 3rd round only for the pussy to quit on you. My record is decent at 26W's to 9L's but in reallity i'd easily be 35-40W's. They really need to patch this ASAP. I'm sticking to player matches till then.

how DO you get out of that rear naked choke? doing career with a new fighter and i'm a much better boxer this time and every time i fight this diego sanchez guy i'll hit him hard enough that screen shakes and the controller vibrates but BAM instant clinch after that and he throws me to the mat and in one motion puts me in that hold and EVERY time i can't escape it. i have fought him 6 times so far this afternoon and once i hit him hard enough that it does that every time he will do an instan-clinch and toss me before i can even think to react.
gettin tired of reloading this damn thing. hey if it cheats me i'll cheat it back dag nabbit
