					| Valve are constantly tweaking the source engine, I think they have a separate team working on it at all times. We got a slew of updates with the previous releases and whilst they weren't revolutionary, they didn't need to be (and some, including Valve, would contest that they couldn't for scalability). | |

well , some games age better than others
dark engine for example looks as good imho as the unreal engine used in Deux Ex
but fuck it , Half-Life still is Half-Life in my book , would want it any other way (ok , i'll make an exception for Black Mesa Source ) , that anaconda still looks aces .

I still don't get why you'd say that. By all estimations, they're cranking away on it every day. What else do you think they're doing, exactly?

Remember, that Valve does appear to have some loose division of labor (for instance, the TF2, L4D, and Portal teams are all separate groups), and the group that did the previous episodes is the same bunch of folks working on Episode 3.

I just don't get what indication there is that it's not a priority for them. It is because they don't talk about it everyday? Because that's just typical Valve media shyness...

Yes you can, but its like 5+ gb big. Its quite a hassle to get it work without the ridiculous character models but the environments in HL2 looks friking amazing

 20GB actually, lol.

It really does look stunning (I'm not a big fan of the new Alyx model though) - a definitely worthy upgrade.

					| The model for Grigori is absolutely horrible/retarded in that "mod". It gives him a fucking monk robe.
