why do people ask me if I have a "twitter" all the time
why should I give a shit and follow other people's "updates"
why should I write everything that happens in my day and let the internet know?
if I'm to have a fucking journal it's to write my own personal and private biography and it's only for my children to read it AFTER I die
I don't have a fucking twitter, I don't have a fucking facebook nor any fucking myspace so fuck off damn it

The success of Twitter is down to the fact that it gives the illusion of an active social event ; how else can you be contributing to a conversation with potentially thousands/millions of other people at once?

I think Twitter is dumb. Like people have said on here, why write every detail of my day out on the internet?
Like I fuck my girl, roll over, have a smoke, cuddle up with her and then break out my phone and twitter "I just had sex with my girlfriend and then a smoke and now we are laying in bed together".
Who gives a shit about such things?
Or the business people. They are the worst. "I'm in a meeting and its boring". "The meeting is over and it was so boring". "I have another meeting in 20 minutes". "Yay! Lunch is only half an hour away".
Seriously.....so stupid.
And what kills me is the way shows (like Larry King, The View, Oprah etc) talk about it like its a brand new invention.
Its essentially a fuckin msg board.
If I wanted to, I could create a thread on here named "Syco's Thread" and every 10 minutes when I'm out and about, use my phone to post or "update" what I'm doing.
Same fuckin thing is it not?
Its just another trend like FuckBook was. Fuckbook has died down and so will Twitter.
All the old celebrities have made it big because its simple to use and you don't have to write long messages.
Who here uses Twitter? And if you had the option of using either Twitter or a regular Message Board, which would you use?

Well I thought the blogs were there first... Now it's called Twitter... I don't get it... Hate facebook... MSN for the win  . And I have DA profile, but I update it like every 3 months at best...

Many people, for some strange reason, want to know what someone else is doing every second of every day. Why are reality shows so popular? Why was Big Brother such a hit? Why do people want to see mentally deficient famous people in their home? It's a mystery. I still don't understand why people have to "be connected" 24/7. I have a mobile, but I don't bother picking it up most of the time. I hate it when a buddy keeps SMSing with his girlfriend when we're watching a movie.
"I'm gonna take a dump", "Taking a dump now", "Wiping my ass", "Ass not properly wiped, hitting the shower", "Shit all over my body, it's nasty", "Getting out of the shower now". That's probably the future of communication.

people are nosey as hell for one. you know how it is, if there's a wreck or a cop has someone pulled over people are always rubberneckin' like hell. same shit with reality tv.
i think the other part of it is that it makes people feel important and like someone gives a shit, which makes me dislike their dumbasses even more. take my brother in law's cunt ass wife - such a snotty little bitch and she blogs about every damn thing that happens, i'll bet at least a half dozen times a day. my wife and my mother in law both dislike her very much yet both of them are reading that crap every single day. why? because they're nosey as fuck. same reason that dumb bitch blogs several times a day, cause she thinks she's important and that someone actually gives a flying fuck.

And then you people wonder how/why twitter is so popular! These things start catching on and soon everyone is doing it because 'everyone is doing it'. Even things that have no purpose or aren't even funny get seen as 'how did we ever get by without' kind of stuff. Wonder when quoting images needlessly will cease to be funny.

Twitter and facebook are for attention whores.
I know one guy that uploads pictures of every weekend drunk fest they have, becasue he thinks people actually care about what he did that weekend. Its more for bar losers (People above 25 that still think clubbin is cool) so they can catalog there night and think it makes them look cool. It makes you look fucking desperate for attention. Look here picture 25 of me with some bar trash.

I guess some people don’t feel the need to be twittering or to be on f/b all the time. You shouldn’t put him (nouse) down because of it tho. He doesn’t need it for work or anything like that.

Twitter does it for you, that is great. For some it cam be a nightmare.
Personally, l like my f/b. Got some good friends on there but not everybody that I have know in my life. It is just a handful of people that I post to every while. People that I respect. I keep in contact with the ones I really care about.

owner basically ripped off what a thousand sites before it did and some how became popular.

I agree. All "Social Networking" sites are retarded.
What happened to ACTUALLY socializing.....like, have a real conversation with your voice instead of text.
I hear kids on the street talking and, for example, one of em will make a joke and the other will laugh slightly and say "lol"....wtf?
If I want to meet new people, I will go for a walk, go to a bar/club/some kinda event etc
Its not hard to meet people. You see someone who looks interesting you walk up and say "Hi, how ya doin?" or whatever.
And I don't mean just women (as in trying to pick up a chick). |
