That's only useful after the carpool message comes up (an hour before the car comes), during freetime it's useless. It only keeps telling the sim to come back during worktime, and the remaining time until then.
Besides the occasional "stay late" opportunity, there is no overtime in the game. With high pays, that would lead to some serious exploits.

1) Don't run the launcher, even if you do, keep it firewalled.
2) The launcher reports the wrong version, don't worry. Just get the RZR release plus the 632 patch, then apply the RZR or WARG crack, keeping a backup of the original file(s)

Yeah, but it's usually AFTER a game has actually gone on sale. Declaring losses of $xx in sales before the game is even PURCHASABLE? That's just fucking messed up.
As for whether they'll get my money or not rests solely on with EA. Open it for mods, release the tools, and I'll buy it. Not before. The ball's in your court now EA, let's see how badly you want to get paid.

Is there any way to start fires on purpose? It seems to me a lot harder to start fires while cooking. My sim had the worst oven available and now he is a cooking pro. Not one fire.
I wanted to try and start a fire in a neighbours home lol. Was wondering the best way to do it? Too bad there isn't a pyromaniac trait lol

First off, you cant have "lost sales" with a non-physical entity such as digital content. Because it is not "real". It does not exist. It is just a collection of 1's and 0's in cyberspace (which also does not really "exist" other than at the very moment it is flying around).
These are real concepts that needs to be taken into account by now, its 2009, not 1969. We can NOT keep classifying non-physical products as we do physical products. 
If i buy a car, i physically REMOVE 1 item from the store, so that noone else can buy the exact same item. That is 1 sale. If i steal it, that is 1 lost sale. 
If i however COPY 1's and 0's from the internet, this is a COPY, a non-physical copy. It does not exist physically, there can never be any "lost sales" since i never REMOVED anything from any store shelf, every single physical disc is still availible on the store shelves. Every single one. There are NO lost sales. They are all there on display ready to be sold.
There are 6 billion people in the world, yet they treat 1 million downloads as if there are omg-no-ppl-left-to-pay-for-the-retail-game! 
NUFF SAID. i'm so sick of this god damn discussion, because it completely disregards the FACT that digital media is NON-PHYSICAL!! 
And finally, I have in fact already paid for this game via pre-order, so it is in fact legal for me to gain access to the game before the release date, since they took my money before the release date

Start cooking something in the oven, but interrupt the activity before your Sim takes it out. Worked for me once (the only time I unintentionally tried it).

It's not that. They're assuming each download means a lost sale, believing every pirate who downloads the game would've otherwise bought it if pirating it weren't possible. Of course, this is erroneous, as...
- Some would still buy it.
- Some wouldn't have bought it even if they couldn't pirate it (like me).

you can click and drag sim needs to the top
if you hold shift and click sim you can change traits and hold shift click mailbox for more options like make needs static(always full) and friends etc

They won't lose that much. Tons of women (as in mothers of 30+ years) and men (same age as mothers) love the Sims game.
It will easily take in millions and millions. I'm gunna buy it. Its worth it. Tons of replay value and shit.
And like someone else said, just because someone downloaded it, doesn't mean they won't buy it.
If I was a HUGE Sims fan, I'd download it, play it, get my character to where I want him/her to be and do whatever.
Then come June 2nd, I'd buy it, move my saves, un-install the cracked copy, install my box copy, put the saves back and I'm set.
EA is playing a dumb game.
The SIms 3 will make a gazilllion dollars (even among those who downloaded it) just like EVERY OTHER SIMS game did.
