Half of the town was missing was what they said, and it probably still is as you're supposed to register your copy to get access to it as a download addition, unsure if it's "required" as such but it seems very well tought out from what I've read with new activities to do and stuff to discover and so on and not just same stuff as the first town but in new area.

EDIT: For version numbering and beta and such Reloaded had version 615.x and Razor had 630.2 or some such, that .2 decides what version it is as seen with all other patches released previously. (.7, .107 and so on but they were all 630.x.)

Ok so if I understand this right what they are saying is that in a post launch digital download the second city will be included, whereas the physical media will require registration in order to acquire that content? Hence the statement about half of it being missing (specifically in the digital download version)?

From what I've understood yes (Serial number probably tied to and used alongside your account for verification as well regarding this and future downloadable addons.), if you check the launcher program you'll even see that town area they're talking about.

They're pretty much set on DLC and downloadable content so I guess they expect people to register the game and get all benefits by regularly purchasing new content even though this first new town area will be made available for free.
(Wouldn't surprise me if they sold item packs for it though, fitting the theme better and so on.)

EDIT: Can't see much more than hairstyles now though, ranges from 75 US cent for child styles to 1 US dollar for adult styles. (Female, male and kid styles are sold separately is what I mean.)

Many people tend to gloss over non-game breaking bugs, I can guarantee you if I played it on your machine I'd spot them all within minutes. Its very obvious what issues a machine can cause with a game and what issues it can't. Graphical issues are the only thing that could vary from machine to machine. Gameplay issues like bad pathfinding with toddlers/babies will be the same in every game, same with many of the other things I've seen.

Ive seen the town available via the launcher in both versions. If the digital distribution version still requires the same registration and validation process as the physical, and both versions can only get that additional content by completing that process, then there is nothing missing from the Reloaded release and EA lied about there being missing content as it was not/will not be included in either version anyway. So... the question remains as to how early digital distribution versions go out to retailers and whether Reloaded sourced that or if it is indeed a pre-release never destined for public consumption.

dude none of those version are a beta i know that, it was a fucking rumor get it that EA started to get people to BUY THEY SHIT thats all

Scene became gay you know

Actually no, the lie was that you'd only get the second city if you pre-ordered, but the part about the reloaded version being pre-release was true Razz

I've experienced only two bugs since I started playing. Just two.

1st was that "Error 13" during a save (listed as a bug in the readme, not a fault of the pre-release IMO, and easily fixed) and one where my character disappeared while in bed. He got up to work around and was invisible. Exiting/reloading the game worked fine and it hasn't happened since.

But your first post on the problems still highlighted the graphical bugs as a fault with the game and a reason for uninstalling Very Happy The truth remains, if you have triangles appearing in any game, however buggy or unbuggy, its your GPU overheating or slowly breaking up. Always is, even if it only happens in one game.

I bet my Sims life that your graphics card will deteriorate more and more, bringing more freezes or graphical anomalies in other games as well, before the summer is over Sad

I havent had any pathfinding bugs either. If you mean when 2 sims walk close to eachother and wait for the other one to pass, that aint a bug. In Sims 1 they didnt do that, so they just bumped into eachother and stood still forever. THAT was a bug.

Practice your sarcasm, and learn to read while your at it. I was simply pointing out that EA was telling porkies about there being missing content in the first leak. That has nothing what so ever to do with complaining about not having content in a pirated version.

Thought it was pretty obvious from the press release that the second town would be in the form of a download on release.

And as for the bugs/pre-final that was only for the old leak, and of course not the new one.

It had some bugs, and it's only normal for someone to protect the reputation of their game because of a bad scene release. Reminds me of either Sacred or Titan Quest, it wasn't properly cracked and the developers took the blame for those issues, why would anyone want to do that?

The Reloaded release had bugs and issues, it wasn't retail, it was beta, and that has absolutely nothing to do with EA saying it was.

Two words: Assassin's Creed.

Poor Ubisoft :-\

I may be wrong, but if i recall correctly the PC release was actually delayed because the problem with the corrupt level was actually Ubisoft's fault, and not the scene release.

You could say they were just lucky it was discovered in time, good thing there's pirates in this world Smile

FYI: The first time you play TS3 it is in tutorial mode, that's why you can't buy lots at the beginning. Switching to town editing mode disables this.

You honestly believe that? I sure don't. Jerusalem wasn't corrupt because of a bug - it was corrupt because the game wasn't finished and it was leaked that way.

It was no doubt because of Data Corruption, if you studied the files you could see that the levels that were bugged were gibberish as opposed to the other level files.

Of course they were gibberish; they weren't finished, mate!

@Fearwhatnow

Mine's still working fine here, bud. I run it directly through the main .exe and not the launcher, if that helps.

Given both the RZR and RLD releases are days apart, the only difference between them might be the distribution method. The RZR one can be patched, yes, but digital download versions (like RLD's) have always had specialized patches, and that might crop up eventually. The 632 patch may be simply designed for retail (RZR) versions.

Has anyone perceived any changes or fixed bugs in-game in the RZR release, compared to the RLD one? That thing about buying empty lots is the same in both versions. For all we know, both the RZR and RLD releases could be pre-gold material: two slightly different, non-final release candidates.

Personally, I haven't had any issues whatsoever with the RLD variant, and I've played for over a couple dozen hours. I'm skeptical towards downloading the RZR release, especially because there's no conclusive evidence about it being any more (noticeably) complete than RLD's. I'd hate to download another 5 GBs to find out I've to get another 5 next week.

PS: There's a difference in protection schemes, but why would I care having a cracked copy? The retail release allegedly has a mere serial protection, yet the RZR package comes with a crack. Rolling Eyes

Thats funny. When i uninstalled the RLD'd version last night, it started the game, twice. I had to exit the game both times until the uninstallation screen came up.

The RZR nfo does mention the difference in changelog numbers (well over 1000 fixes in RZR's compared to RLD's number) - of course only the devs know how major/minor those changes are.

Given that there's already a release day patch available for the RZR release, I'd wager it's indeed a proper retail version.

Btw., there's already some preliminary/testing mods out with custom textures/recolors, so we should see plenty of those at least once the game is out. Smile
