In The Sims, when there is a sim who has been turned into a zombie, you can't resurrect it, except if you have Unleashed, then you can go to Old Town to any lot that has a shop that sells candles, and find a woman wearing a yellow dress and a big fancy sunhat named Miss Lucille. Then ask for her to resurrect the zombie (for a price), but this interaction is only available if you have Livin' Large and Unleashed. Sometimes, when the zombie's mood is bad, she wouldn't resurrect it, and she will say that the zombie does not want to be resurrected now. The same goes for cats and dogs.
In first person mode on certain games, as the ghost, you can either pay the Grim Reaper §100, or challenge him to a fiddle contest (kind of a reference to the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by The Charlie Daniels Band). Paying will automatically renew your Sim their life, while, the Fiddle contest can take time. The best way to ensure that your deceased Sim will win, is if you fill their wants and needs bar. When your Sim returns to life, all of their needs will be half-way full. Your Sim will not look any different, or act any differently than they did before they 'died'.
On The Sims 2 for PC, the Resurrect-O-Nomitron from the Paranormal career track can bring back the dead, by phoning the Grim Reaper and paying him. You must have the University Expansion Pack installed to get the Resurrect-O-Nomitron. If you pay under §996 your Sim won't come back and Grim will just take your money. Paying the Grim an amount between §996 - §1408 will make the resurrected Sim a zombie and if you pay the Grim Reaper more than §1408, he'll bring your Sim back as a human. |

If you actually click "Read" on the newspapers, you get small notes on what has happened the previous day..
I'm like, amazed at how much happens each day, babies born, neighbours dying out of old age, and once by electrocution from a home appiance! I was like "wtf?!" when i read that 
Or even if new people move in, what their name is and sometimes where 
By now, my city is totally different. Most of the original inhabitants are either dead or so old that all they do is wander around the park talking to themselves and displaying little broken heart icons over their dead mates  lololol
And i was watching the park one day just to see what was going on, and before my eyes a woman who was playing chess became fat, in one second lol
I'm playing on Long lifetime settings, or whatever its called, the second longest one.
When i get my copy of the game in the mailbox, i might actually set it to Short and just zoom past a few weeks just to get some random variations in who dies and who is born, before i start and move in myself =)
