Actually he's referring to M-theory. Wink

But it's a subset of string theory, isn't it? I haven't studied it, so my knowledge can be summed up from things I've read on the internets. Smile

It's more of a unification of the five different superstring theories, with each theory presenting a limit on the dimensionality of M-theory.

Kind of like how string theory is a unification of quantum mechanics and general relativity.

Please tell me your concrete reasoning behind the universe and everything... I must know Rolling Eyes

There is no reason, everything is just a huge reaction of every other action, apply this to a probable 11 dimensional mechanics and take into consideration that time is just an extension/continuation of space and you pretty much have the "simple answer" that you so strongly want religion to have, as for meaning, we created meaning with our extraordinary ability to "sense" this reality, but there is no universal meaning other than your own meaning and our collective meaning as an intelligent race, please stop throwing your head on the sand and allowing this fantasy to continue damaging humanity.

Cheers, thanks for the info. This is interesting to me, might study on the subject on a later degree (have to finish my current one first). Smile

its always difficult to end a long running show without disapointment but they pulled it off i think. Look at Twin Peaks for an example of what could have happened. Loved the inclusion of Jimmi soundtrack at end + previous BSG theme.

Rarely does a series last this long without turning to complete shit.

I can't wait for the OST of S4 and Razor (the original tune is played in the Adama flashback of 40 years ago) to finally come out. While I haven't watched the original BSG, the tune sound so fantastic. Smile

There is still a BSG movie to be release later this year, "Battlestar Galactica - The Plan" if I'm not mistaken, but I have no idea about what the plot will be about, but probably some unanswered questions will be answered then.

But then again, the way they ended the show, if they answer some of this questions the wrong way, many will be disappointed, especially if they go further with this god story arc.

If you remember, the intro of the show used to contain "And they have a plan." The Plan (Smile) will show what that plan was supposed to be. Smile

Also, I think there are more made for TV movies coming in the future, like Babylon 5. Smile

It was the cylons that had a plan, but in the series it was pretty much explained that their plan was to take revenge upon humanity and evolve into more complete beings, Cavil's conversation with Ellen in episode 19 was very clear about their desires.

Apparently that wasn't the plan. Moore talked about it in his podcasts, how the plan storyline was neglected and then ultimately forgotten (by writers and fans). So The Plan is supposed to remedy that. Smile

And it just goes to show how pathetic atheists are when they can't stand the religion or the mere notion of God, even in a sci-fi show lol, so they have to delude themsleves into ingoring it.

A lot of atheists (even militant ones like Dawkins) can still appreciate mysticism as a device for dramatic effect.

Myself, I enjoyed the end of the series and found the last episode in particular to be particularly emotional but I do think the it was rushed towards the end, and that the mysticism took too much prominence as the series progressed. Still, it's a bit premature to call this the end though as there will eventually be a feature length episode and spin off series. Whether they will fill the (very large) void left by BSG or not we wait and see...

If you have a problem with gods in fiction, you should probably take a chill pill about your Deophobia. ["These men are not atheists, they have the fear of God in them, but they are in denial."]

BSG- The Plan - It's Season 1 and 2 from the Cylon perspective. Made by Olmos. Essentially, its not worth watching cause you know whats going to happen and nothing to new is going to be revealed.

Finale Question

At the end, when Baltar and Caprica 6 are on Earth and Caprica says something about God and Batlar says "You know, he really doesn't like that name"....is he insinuating that HE (Baltar) is God or that he is an Angel and knows Goid?

Cause that fuckin threw me.

And what the hell was with Kara Thrace? She disappears? What was she? An Angel? A Spirit? A Demon?.....? Since when did Angels shit and piss and have bodily functions humans have....

The last hour of the Finale was way to fuckin wack and weird and didn't make sense.

I remember one of the last eps (of the last season ofc) when McNulty had his Irish Wake done in the bar...i fucking weeped - excellent character and an excellent actor. This scene is like an early ending to the series for me...

The Wire kicks ass!

She was whatever you needed her to be. She did lead them all to their end, the end of their journey. The show left a lot of open doors and you shouldn't try and label it. She was something supernatural, whether it be alien, angel or otherwise.

Watch it again and maybe you'll discover some of the universal truths they used as plot devices. Fantastic conclusion.

I also quit watching Dexter after the first season. i tend to do that with series I like. I fucking HATE waiting till the next week so i will wait a long while and then download a shit load of them and watch them till i am tired of watching them. Lol.

I do love this show though.

Well, just started on this show and it is great! Currently watching part 2 of the pilot's pilot Razz Anyways I have a question though.. How many years into the future does the story take place in? Did there ever been a mention of that? Like in what century they are? Maybe it is a spoiler?

Just going through this thread to see what people think about the last season, and I find this:

Two guesses from me: Either they can't jump anymore at all, and this is a nice setup for Cavil's expected arrival, and then a war has to occur, or they are setting up the end of the show with the final jump Galactica does is to some special place. Smile
