We trashed our players, running a sera and high elf combo, right now we are about to do through the wall. Doing it on Silver but still can't kill the damn Kobold Chieftain. His health regen is insane. We are lvl 20 (started this morning).

Install it on the hard drive.

First off, I'm a huge Sacred fan. The first one was almost groundbreaking in what Ascaron tried to deliver. I say tried because this company has a horrible sense of polish. The first game was buggy, it's main feature, quests, we're 50/50 if you could complete them or they would glitch out. The world itself was huge. It was randomly generated, but it was huuuuuuuge. And you got a horse! So they make a sequel.

I was excited, I knew my pc couldn't play it so I had to wait for the console version. Delay after delay it's finally here and it's everything I hoped it would be. Except it also isn't. Again, issues abound. The inventory system is retardedly bad. I hate these fucking menu driven inventories. Go back to the god damned grids! The pop in and load are times are bad, made only slightly better by installing to the hard drive. The framerate is choppy. The animations are stiff, the controls are very unresponsive. The 'tutorials' are nonexistant. If you don't get the manual (and most of us here won't lol) you're gonna spend alot of time confused.

All that aside, this is definately Sacred 2. Quests everywhere. It's gorgeous to look at (I was watching the grass and noticed it fluttering, when I realised a small bird was flying through it before it took off). Lots of items to collect, and the levelling system is gonna take alot to master. I'd have liked a way to pay to reset your skills cause I have to start over now after making a huge mistake picking a bad skill. Also didn't really like the skillset the Temple Guardian offers. Like Sacred, this sequel has good in it, buried under a thick skin of barbs. Some of it is really hard to look past, and I think a lot of people are gonna toss this aside after a few hours and never touch it again.

It's too bad the console version had to suck. I'd probably enjoy the pc version. I'd say if you're a fan of the first game, try this you might like it. Otherwise, borrow it from a friend if you're curious because you probably won't like it.

Sucks for you that you can't play PC version, because issues you mentioned aren't in PC version.

Don't get what everyone was saying about how rats are all you fight in the game. I've only met a couple of rats, and I've been playing for 6-7 hours. Mostly fighting undead right now.

have some in other games (liteon) witch I didnt have with the sammy, but not with this game. Nothing really bad tho, just takes some time before it loads the textures, and then its all ok.

It certainly has it's faults (CAMERA!!!!!!!! I WANT TO LOOK WHERE I'M GOING! NOT WHERE I AM!), but it's strangely addictive (GOD I HATE THE SHADOW WARRIOR'S VOICE!).
I see myself doing fetch quest after fetch quest for hours on end, getting new gear - god it brings back memories of D2 Very Happy

Ok I need to better articulate my thoughts.

First, as much as I try to put down the controller, I can't. Ascaron really knows what they're doing when it comes to the deep core gameplay, and as a hack n slash, Sacred 2 is incredibly addictive.

Things I'd like to see improved:
- Better AI companion support. I found out how to heal them with pots. I'd like to have a system where I can tell them to "Stay There!" or "Follow Me!". The Hirelings Tutorial is only good for teaching you one thing: you're gonna hate every single escort quest you do.

- More tips and tip windows. I'll admit I should have remembered this from Sacred 1, but I just learned how to wield a sword and shield. Yah I'm retarded. (For those joining me on the short bus, link your sword to a slot, and then link the shield to the same slot)

- Camera controls are atrocious. Ok, they aren't bad, but the default angle is. I keep wanting to look forward and the strain on my eyes is really apparent after 4 hours

- Unresponsive combat. I'll open up with a ranged attack, but I can't immediately switch to melee because my character will just keep doing ranged attacks. I've since just stuck to having either a melee weapon or a ranged one. Using both is retarded in the current system.

- No trade in co-op? Lol, nice one. (Apparently getting fixed)

- Cryptic skill descriptions and bonuses. Need a PhD just to figure out how to play a character, and the lack of a skill buyback feature means that at level 50 when you eff up, you just wasted hours of playing. Congrats! On the other hand, bring back the good old days of Diablo min/max. This gives the game some replayability. Still, I do wish I knew how important things like Warding Energy or Divine Inspiration were...

- A tie-in above, Warding Energy. I'm playing a Slutaphim and I honestly have no clue what this is supposed to help. I looked it up on the wiki but I just don't get it. How do I know when my buff/shield is up or down? When the mobs break my shield does the icon go off my screen? I wish there was an HP bar for it when it was active, just so I know 'Ok shield is about to break, don't use a CA in this tree so I can avoid waiting for cooldown'. Not very intuitive. Does the PC version have this problem?

- Inventory management on consoles...can they really not have the standard bags/grids? The lack of any way to quickly page through the inventory is so frustrating. If I ever do stop playing this game, it'll be because of this.

Off the top of my head...these are the most nagging issues. Once I get a groove going, just tearing swathes through enemy hordes, time flies. In terms of the actually A-RPG gameplay, I can't get enough. I'm so desperate for a good game in this genre (Titan Quest was great but I need something fresh) I'm willing to look past the rough edges. I can bet though if there was any real competition (imagine D3 going multiplatform?) Sacred 2 would be kicked to the curb.

If I had to give a score... C+
Maybe you'll pay more attention in class Ascaron.

Nightlith, there is trade in co-op (atleast online).

I'm loving this game, atleast an 8.0 imo.

Deelix, I'm pretty sure you can have as many potions as you want, as long as you find them. Not sure about buying, but I've got about 200 health potions right now.

Is it just me, or is picking Ker as your deity a huge mistake? The Sakkara is useless when it becomes hostile after 20 seconds.

He seems pretty useless to me. First time I used him inside a cave. Didn't kill anyone besides me, and I could not go back inside the cave until I restarted the server. Second time I tried him on one of the bosses. Didn't kill nobody, had to restart the server and kill the boss myself.

I agree with others. The game has many flaws, most have already have been mentioned, like the bad inventory system, camera problems, coop trading, lack of tutorials and unresponsive combat. There is also a game stopping bug I encountered, and even missing text in one of the quests. BUT...

They could have really messed this game up, especially considering that its also released on consoles.

- They kept the world huge and open, something that makes Sacred stand above the rest.
- Tons of armor and weapons. A must have in a game like this.
- The visuals are right on, with lots of detail and variation.
- Plethora of side quests. I got achievement for completing 20% of side quests. Which means theres probably around 500 of them.

Those things are the most important features to me in ARPG like Sacred. I have no problem with looking past all the flaws, and waste way too many hours on this game.

The inventory management is great for a console rpg, imo. I agree on the unresponsive combat though, but luckily for me I only use a melee weapon.

Got my unique mount yesterday. Love it.

Isn't this the first diablo style ARPG on consoles? I can see why you are all so hungry for game like this. Xbox1 and PS2 has shit load of great ARPGs. This current gen is weird, no ARPGs, no platformers, just shooters shooters and more shooters. Luckily we get some JRPGs.

Temple Guardian was the worst class for me to start with. If this game has an 'advanced' class, TG would be it. Once I get better at the game mechanics I'll try it again. I had no direction with him, and really messed it up skill wise. Also alot of his skills seem really useless. The Battle Extension seemed like a good idea, but damned if I can't figure out how it works.

Are the Sacred forums a good resource? I go there but how much of that stuff is useful for console gamers? I'm wondering specifically how much changed from PC to console.

The Battle Extension is a great CA. When you use it, he'll execute a three hit combo, and while he has the third arm out, it will count as you dual wielding your main hand weapon. But yeah, TG seems to be more for advanced players.
