Lol, support for this game is a joke, their "forum" sucks ass. I just want to know if the game activation requires online access. Any info on the protection ?

I got the impression from reading on the official forum that there wasn't even a serial protection with the game. Confused Don't want to look through the three pages that i read again but i could have swore someone said they couldn't find a key with their retail version..?

Heh, funny that what I posted on the previous page about unpacking it manually didn't work due to missing .HDR or .CAB files yet when I tried it myself after finally downloading and extracting the damn thing everything works as intended. Very Happy

So lets take this slow and easy, mount the image, start the program and try opening the .cab file, won't work so try opening the .hdr file which will work.

You should be under "Features" skip this and go to "Display Components" next to that icon (The Round circle in two parts one) and then the "GrinExes" folder (It's not actually a folder though.)

Finally click the "TerminatorSalvation.exe" and then under the menu options click "Tools -> Extract File" set a destination and whoila! EXE extracted from the Data2.cab file.

Now use what I wrote above and get the rest unapcked yourselves. Very Happy

Data1.hdr links to Data2.cab for some reason, being able to unpack the setup.exe would be easier but as the setup related data is missing the installer wouldn't work so unpacking the files manually is the only method so far. Smile
(Can also take the registry values with this utility if they're needed.)

EDIT: Oh and to be more clear you need the files under USR_Root (Goes to the "root" directory with the EXE) USR_Bundles (Goes to the Bundles folder in the game folder) and USR_Videos (Goes to the Videos folder in the game folder) plus the Context file for your language (Goes to the context folder)

If you "install" the game to C:\Games\Terminator\ then the file directory under that would be the EXE and the files under USR_Root in that folder and the others in their respective folder in the \Terminator\ directory. Smile

EDIT: Seems there's a few issues with doing this, will need further testing. Sad

I extracted all files and the game seems to "work", but we still need a crack

I´ll unpack the mds/mdf and give it a try with dtlite+yasu or v-ide.

Well obviously .exe still contains securom and requires the disc inserted since it's a clone.

Even so there'll be a few error messages afterwards with the disc mounted, I checked a few things but I can find no reason for this, there's a few parameters for where the files should be located and I was a bit incorrect (Context.xml goes to the same folder as the exe file and the video folder goes to the game folder and then a \data\ folder.)

I'm still checking a few things but so far I can't find any cause of this error, might be that data1.cab contains some useful files which are now missing, comparing the data directory against someone who has the Steam version might also be useful to get the absolute proper folder structure. Smile

EDIT: Perhaps it's the registry values?
(I left the Lang key at English whereas it should be 0x0009 )

Sorry I'm a bit stressed, it's uploaded one page back but it seems it's requested that I use another file mirror so I'll see if I can't get it up on other sites. (Mediafire and Rapidshare for example.)

EDIT: This one.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/rfklho

Ahaha, nah I wouldn't go that far but there's more than this title at the moment, just a bit to do that's all and I'm already taking it very slow with it as it might be that the missing file on the disc (Data1.cab and Data2.hdr) are required for a proper installation.

A so called "Steam rip" would be the best option at the moment or a screen or something from a already installed version as to get the folder structure properly set up (It should already be based on the info that the unpacked/viewer gives but just incase.)

Anyway here's the rapidshare link that was requested.

That looks like a missing reference, I'll look for where it's from and will provide a link to it in the mean time you might get the stand-alone DLL from one of these sites.

I can get the files extracted and hopefully following the somewhat-of-a-guide I posted previously people can use that ISCabVU utility to unpack the data2.cab files however for some reason even when the files are in their proper folder (Or what should be the proper folder.) the game gives a error message and quits (After passing the disc check only validation.)

Still working on a few things but it's slow as there's nothing to base it on but it should be possible to solve it with a bit of work, hopefully.

Looks like it's just an issue of having files in proper folder structure and/or registry entries.
