Is there any way to change the resolution?

As far as I know, it's impossible, even asked at the official forum.

Is it just me or did the first SL look a lot better than this. It looks like they just slapped a new story and puzzles on graphics from the original. And managed to fuck it up with memory issues, lags, and a absolutely comical new serial killer. A gas mask? That's the best they could come up with?

I remember the original Killer. I was genuinely afraid of him. The mask was so wonderfully terrifying. And he was SILENT. Gave him a nice aura of infallibility.
This one is pathetic.

Yep... I agree with you in every point. Graphics, story, killer. It's not as great as in the first one. It's a shame.

3. Additional information

The following information was modified or did not appear in the original game manual:

- Remember the location of your save files and their location, so that you can find them easily if necessary.

- STILL LIFE 2 is made to be played in resolution 1024x768.

- If the game turns slowly, think to modify the game's options (Main Menu -> Options) and choose the propositions minimum.

Why'd you do it to be played in a shitty resolution!?!?!?

So you would whine. But seriously, adventure gamers don't seek flashy graphics with exploding heads.

Yeah, but it still would look like shit on an LCD monitor at that res, due to interpolation.

The correct way to do it is saving the images at hi-resolution and then rendering & downscaling as needed, depending on the user's resolution

If they're saved at 1024x768, the engine will need to upscale or run at native resolution, both ways it would look like shit.

whatever @ the gfx.

the game has some other problems, though, bigger than the lame graphics. it has pixel-hunts, it has timed puzzles, it's possible to die, the voice acting is laughable, some puzzles are idiotic, the inventory space is limited (which translates into a lot of backtracking) and sometimes you can't do something (even if you know how and what to do), before looking at something more than once (aka design fail).

this is one game that i won't have any regrets about deleting half-way through.

I know gfx don't matter, but it's a thing they could've done right, but they didn't. I'm really pissed off, cause I'm a big fan of the first one, and this one is really shitty. I'm utterly surprised this is Still Life 2. It's broken all over.

This is sad =(

Actually, they ask for Myst like graphics that are way above typical FPS game. Most images are static and there is no shooting so it is far easier to run adventure game than FPS one with hundreds of enemies exploding in small pieces.

I think the original exe had problems with certain graphic cards, but I'm not sure.
