Didn't you get insurance for the lost items? I was thinking of running an insurance scam since when I managed to make a fire, I got like double the simoleons than what the items lost were worth, but I haven't managed to create another fire so far. Very Happy

Edit: Btw anyone with Ati card and issues with FSAA - my antialiasing seems to work until I alt-tab for the first time. After that it's disabled until I launch the game again. Pity, since I love to alt-tab.

I havent played it myself, but my daughter is completely into it. I have to pry her of the chair at bedtime..
But it certainly looks better than S2 and the AI and stuff looks more fun..

Ive been getting off with my boss lol, I already have 2 other romantic interests and a kid by one roaming around somewhere... Very Happy
I am hoping or testing to see if the boss involvment actually makes it any easier on me at work, ive already seen ask for promotion and ask for raise in chat options when I had my tongue down her throat..

pure class fun..

This game would be even better if there was a dlc pack for english talking Very Happy with variations of attitudes and lust/sex sounds lol... swearing as well would really be great for the evil trait..

^ I've gotten one raise so far without any problems, and my boss is a friend (or whatever it was that comes after 'acquaintance'). Too bad he has the inappropriate trait, and with my sim having the hotheaded trait, they usually end up fighting unless I choose the interactions. Razz

Double!? Lucky bastard... I only got 900 simoleons and that was to replace a burned table ($160), a PC ($2150) and a HDTV ($3500)

Grrr.

I like the game, but the game is kinda slow for me. I have a 16:9 laptop screen, but the only 16:9 option that there is is 1920x1080, which is really hard for my laptop to run smoothly.

I was wondering if anyone knows some sort of hack that would allow me to use 1280x720 resolution, thanks in advance

Hmm, anyone tried memory editing the lifetime happiness points yet? The money is a standard 4 byte value and easy to find, but can't seem to find the points you use to buy the lifetime awards.

Edit: Ok got it now, the lifetime happiness points are on a float value, do a range search (like if you have 3502 happiness, in a small range like 3500-3504) since it's adding up all the time and uses fractions.

lol my ingame girlfriend pulled a trick on me.. You know how you cant see their age until you ask them to move in? Well.. Yeah..
Like a few pixels left on the bar until she becomes an old granny.. lol what a ripoff!
So then i had to kick her out (i dont want no granny) and go looking for a new one to impregnate (lol, gotta seed the city with new peeps!).

But guess what, it seems i cant actually get "in a relationship" with someone until i broke it up with the other one.. I know i should be able to, but it just never came up as a question.
So i invited my to-be-ex over, and what a sight.
A fucking 80 year old woman walks in and starts crying as i break up with her, then ask the other girl to go steady. ROFL
What a game. A 20 ish dude in a relationship with an 80 year old woman.

Sabin you are right, in the first two taking a leak and having a shower before work was hard as hell to manage at least for me which killed my urge to play those two. But in this version its easy as hell.

My sim is a womanizer who already has three love interests. If he doesnt get any poontang from the new interests he just goes over thr road and shags the chick there who he knocked up the first time he had sex. Very Happy I didnt realize that "WooHoo" actually meant "have-sex-but-without-the-risk-to-have-kids". Razz AT least he doesnt have to pay for the kid.

Someone asked how you get babies, well you need to flirt long enough with a sim to open up extra Romantic actions, one of them will be "Try to have a baby" or something along those lines. So, "kiss-hug-hold hands-etc-etc-have kid". Then just wait.

BTW, my siim is an athelete working at the stadium. In the first two weeks after getting the job he already got promoted twice and has three free days a week. Lots of time to do other non-job related things. Smile

It's awesome isn't it? I love the way Maxis has tweaked the time management in this. At least now it doesn't completely feel like "wake up, work, sleep" any more.

I'm rank 9 now in my Thief career, also got a couple of skills either maxxed or close to it, and I'm having an absolute blast!!

Thief career sounds great !

Also, when on the PC, can you download warez ? Buahahaaaa, poor EA.

EDIT: Wait, is there a chance to be caught while "working" as a thief ? I don't wanna spend the game in Jail Laughing

LMAO! Yep, there is. I got caught and spent 24hrs in jail. Only once though, haven't been caught since (and my Sim, being a Kleptomaniac, often comes home from work with stuff he's pinched -- like the next door neighbour's car! Laughing)

^ yeah and if you read the description for the car it's obviously something for the chicks. There needs to be a dlc for proper humvee. Very Happy

Oh and thief path is for tossers (it branches out at one point) - winners pick the path of Evil. Wink

And about going to jail - I got a bug with it when it came up simultaneously with a completed job opportunity. Instead of going to the cop's car I just went straight home, and JUST as I had reached my bed (my energy was like 10% at that point) I got a non-cancellable task to go to the jail. Fucking had to cycle there myself, so it took even more time than usual.

And since for some reason you can't sleep in there, I got out practically sleepwalking and in a completely crappy mood, with only few hours until work.

The happiness points? Yeah once I found it, it changed just fine - was able to buy even the most expensive abilities.

Word of warning about the crash - happened to me while I was saving and the save got corrupted. Fortunately the game does a backup file of each save, but you still might want to save into multiple slots just in case. Lost only 30'ish mins of gameplay, but it played out differently - originally my redhead co-worker went to the gym and turned smokin' hot. When I replayed it she came over and stuffed her face with my waffles and now she has looks only timechange could love. Crying or Very sad

LOL within one minute after starting to play, I went to the gym to meet a girl. First one I meet, turns out she's rich, romantican and easy to please. Within 5 minutes of talk, complement and massage, we WooHoo'ed 4 times. I now live at her house, spend her money, and am a partner at the thief facility (with her money). So I guess that makes me a trophy BF. Laughing

If only it was that easy in real life lol...
