Is the game demanding? I had a bit of a problem playing CIV4 in large maps.

Hardware wise? At a glance I can't see how (but I have a particularly good, if not the best, computer). I think Civ4 was poorly optimised as even on fast computers it was sluggish (rather than slow).
The 3D engine isn't as bad as I feared but I still feel it was utterly pointless.

You can also use Crusader Kings and export your game from there to EU
so it's more like 1000 years as opposed to 700.
Burn them all Adolf

yep.. however i never really got into crusader kings
For me it would go
1)Victoria: with the VIP Mod
2)HOI2 with xpack
3)Either EU2 or EU3

If you want to try the older EU2, get the MyMap MOD, it's a must, adds over 500 more provinces, makes the map much more accurate and adds more events.

Anyone tried VACE release for Napoleons Ambition? I was following instructions from nfo, but nothing happens. I've selected C drive as destination but I can't find anything there. When I run the game everything looks the same as before.

For anyone that cares..
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=341700&page=1&pp=20
This mod makes the game 1000000000000x better
And as i said in the other thread
If you do use this mod.. then delete the file
mod\wholeworld\common\technology.txt
Unless u want a crazy as game with like the maya invadaing europe lol
That file by default is kinda says how diff regions are handicapped by technology... for example
groups = {
latin = 1.0
eastern = 0.9
muslim = 0.8
indian = 0.5
chinese = 0.4
african = 0.2
new_world = 0.1
But that mod changes them all to 1.0 ... so just delete the file in the mod dir and it will revert to the norm style =D

Europa.Universalis.3.Complete-CPY
───────────────────────────────[ PRESENTS ]───────────────────────────────U

Release Date.......[ 19/05/2009
Shop Release Date..[ -
Formato............[ Bin+Cue
Tipo Release.......[ Game
Genere.............[ Strategy
Protezione.........[ -
N.Files............[ 24x15MB
U─────────────────────────────[ INFORMATION ]─────────────────────────────U
Europa Universalis III refers to itself as a "grand
strategy game" on the game box, and developer
Paradox certainly isn't kidding. It may "only" span
just more than 330 years of Renaissance and
Reformation history, but it lets you take control of
hundreds of nations, using any means at your disposal
to expand your borders. It's the kind of thing that
historical strategists lap up but that often leaves
others in the cold. Yet, if you've been intimidated by
similar complex games in the past, it's time to rethink
your position. Europa Universalis III is bursting with
all the features armchair generals expect while
welcoming newcomers with open arms and a friendly,
intuitive interface. It improves upon nearly every aspect
of its predecessors, and the result is an addictive and
appealing experience, even for those who usually shy
away from games with screenshots that look like a
geography lesson.
Instructions:
-Burn or mount the image
-Install the game
-Enjoy
Notes:
-You might want to install latest patch
-This version includes all official expansions
Many thanks to all our supporters -- you know who you are.

Just bumping this up a bit, the expansion; Heir to the Throne is supposedly out tomorrow (expect it to be 'cracked' instantly as there's no protection).
And "For The Glory" has been out already for a while, it's basically reheated EU2.

Well, it'll be "cracked" but good luck actually finding a download. It's out but I'm coming up empty. Want to try it out w/o the bugs that were in the demo. Then I will gladly give Paradox money. Usually I don't care but they're a great company.

I do like the theme of the games Paradox makes, pretty unique and after giving the games maybe half a year and with a expansion or two the games are pretty good. But I hate that they ALWAYS releases alpha unfinished games, and that they always need to give out 3-4 patches and sometimes an expansion before the game is good and really playable. Best and and newest example is Hoi3. Even at patch 1.3 the game has game breaking bugs, huge stacks always gathering in the us, the isle between england and france, and in japan in shanghai. And there is no info about patch 1.4, and the price dropped a lot not long after release. Makes you wonder if they have abandon the game, and left it for the modders. What a shame.
Hope to download and try this latest addon for eu3, if it's good, I'll probably buy it, I have all the other eu games.
