Likewise. Even enabling edge-smoothing in the game does nothing, or nothing noticeable anyway.

Anyone know what program I can use to block the game from connecting to internet?
I'm not interrested in installing any firewall.

if you know the address that it's trying to connect to, you can add it to your hosts file
it's in c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ (on xp)

just add another line containing 127.0.0.1 followed by an ip/name to which you don't wanna connect Smile
for example: 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com

Didn't you get the option for choosing the language and location when you installed? That's the only place I recall seeing the different language options - you might be able to change it by editing one of the ini files, but probably easiest if you just reinstall. Razz

Aaaah, very nice, completed the Journalist career and maxed the writing skill, fun fun. But now this character is bleak, even though I made him a Loner, Outside Hater, Computer Geek.

I think ill make a evil, socially incompatible fatty next, might be more fun in the long run.

Why exactly do we have to block this game from going online?
I've just played it some time now without blocking anything, and it works fine :\

Im not sure why no one is getting any AA, i seem to have it no problem with my xfx 4870, just left ccc to app control with edge detect on and set 4x i think it is AA via game menu.. seems to look fine.

Not had any crashes or anything yet either seems to be running fine..Regarding paning etc, not had a problem with it, its as normal as every sim game has been when rotating around, its not show stopping as its not even horrid its just not silky smooth like say in a rts etc but ive never known the sims to be silky on rotation of the neighbourhoods..

Of course when in ur own home or zoomed in a bit its perfectly fast and smooth then just not when out zooming the whole region..

My pad lol, heck taking me a while so far to get things but its been a blast just laying back with a simple criminal job (yes im evil) and loafing about lol.. so far fun game.

the walls are removed thats why u can see the sink hehe Razz and i know there needs to be 2 chairs for the chess table lol..

Sorry if its been asked. If you don't stop it going online, what happens? I don't use a software firewall, just hardware.

Cheers

Some models I think seem to show lack of a little AA but its not everything, it could be just some bad ass implementation somewhere but majority it seems of models have good clean edges with AA used in menu.. its almost like sometimes its just one side of a model no matter how u can look at it. But I just dont see it pop out at me as most of the other stuff is fine..

No idea why one side of something would show a slight jaggy line and other 3 say not.. a render is a render after all and should apply to the whole scene ur looking at.

Hi,

I'm playing on a HD tv and I can't seem to select the right resolution, 1176*667 or 1280*720 isn't available. Forcing a resolution through the Option.ini file isn't working for me either since the resolution pops back to the standard resolution as soon as I start the game.
Anyone got an idea how to fix this? Thanks

FSAA working for me, BUT I'm fairly sure the crack is fucked, if you build windows you only see the wall and the borders of the window, no hole in it, and there are some problem with doors too that they have texture from the walls on them.

Shame people are having problems. I was gonna comment how bug free the game is. Guess I'm just lucky. Played for over 5 hours straight and not one crash or hiccup. I've got reeeeealllly old hardware too: xp 2500+ , 1 gig ram, and a HD3850. Runs really good at 1280x800 even with AA, mostly medium, some high settings.

i can has computar?!

I honestly and truly LOVE this game! Most definitely will be a purchase, methinks. I've gotten over my tantrum of DLC and cut-content-for-later-shipping thanks to the overwhelming fact of just how awesome the game is.
