What the hell is wrong with you people? Legacy is excellent! Yanno, I avoided it like the plague when it first came out - but then this thread got me thinking. So I downloaded it this morning, patched with the two available patches, then installed the 2GB "Ultimate Universe" mod set -- and it's EXCELLENT! The UI is confusing as fuck sometimes (especially the shipyard part where you buy/sell/upgrade your fleet) but after a while I started to get the hang of it - now I'm blowing the shit out of Romulan, Klingon, Dominion and Borg ships ^_^

It's nowhere near as bad as everyone claimed, IMO. Though to be honest, I've not played it vanilla. Right from install, I patched up with the two latest and then installed the mammoth "Ultimate Universe" mod.
Still playing it right now and having a blast too!

Same here...had it installed like 4 days ago...but found it to scripted and a bit shallow (old maybe) will give that mod a go. Cheers.
You have an exact link to that mod?
I get 1.0 and 1.5 and those are not 2 gig????.

Anyknow know where I can modify the resolution used in the game? what file or reg entry?
The max resolution I can select ingame is 1920x1200, but I need to change it to 2560x1600 which isn't on the list.

so with this new mod, do you still just bounce of planets, planetoids, asteroids, whatever?
one of my biggest peeves with the game, at least at launch

yea this one looks great, i just think starfleet command was a better game, or at least a better simulator. its like they made the engine, effects, hit location and all that and just didnt make a game with a point other than looking at it afterwards. such a shame really... i might try out this mod sometime, still have the game somewhere, but i might be better off looking for a copy of starfleet command, or dare i say bridge commander than playing this one.

Yeah didnt you like post a thread in general or something once and then dissapear with no communication about how you were whatever reason it was etc, and then suddenly I saw you posting in the console area many moons later.. ? 
And now a out of the blue reply in the pc section lol.

yea i havent upgraded my pc in forever so gave up on pc gaming and got a 360 last summer. plus alot of moving around from state to state. |

Hey for anyone how played the ultimate universe mod, does it add things to the actual campaign/campaign missions? Or does it primarily change stuff for single missions/multiplayer?
In other words, are the changes present in the campaign also?

Christ, that shits in the game? I haven't played it much and I bought it for the 360 like a day or 2 after it came out. |
