An oldie but goody , basically i installed both games a few days ago and both have the same problem of every few minutes the game seems to ignore the keyboard and mouse causing the player to lag in the game , everything else contimues as normal , my pc can handle this game easily.

Ive tried every resolution/detail level possible and still get the same result but it is only on these 2 games all other games work fine , both games are patched to the latest version , all pc drivers are at their latest vers too.

Anyone have any ideas before i uninstall of reformat ?

Run the in_restart command in the console (also google for other console commands and cvars)

I actually played through Quake4 and Doom3 not even a month ago and didn't have such problems. Yeah I know it's no help for you but just saying.

Formatted and reinstalled both games then applied the update and the same thing happens, soo reformatted and reinstalled again without applying the update and everything runs very nicely. Very weird.#
