Well, its a great game IF you can find a server on normal/hard and actually connect to it.
Once they get their bullshit browser ironed out it'll be a keeper.

And for $15 bucks (unlike Valve having the balls to charge $50) it was a good deal.

So, you're safe this time SilverBlue Very Happy

I laugh heartily when reading posts on the game's forum about how the game is nothing but a mod and isn't worth 15 bucks. Then they go and point out Left 4 Dead. >____>

Yeah I just got it, I'm wondering if this'll work through hamachi since you have to copy it to steam folder.

is this worth getting for single player only? does it have a campaign or is it just a string of random maps that you can play with bots?

L4D is much more than just a mod tbh. It has tons of engine modifications and new content never seen before in a Source game.

I'm probably going to buy this soon, as I used to enjoy the mod alot. I'm sure it is worth 15 bucks (or 18 euro, as is the case for me..).

This game is super epic fun! I've been having a blast with my mates. Definitely worth the paltry €11 it cost pre-launch.

^^ Ditto!

We've been playing it on and off all day. As long as you don't "over play" it so that it gets boring, I reckon we'll be playing this game for years. The SDK came out yesterday too and since the game is built on UE2.5, mapping is as easy, or hard, as it is for UT2K4. A friend of mine is already beavering away working on porting some CoD4 maps Laughing

I hope they'll be porting some of the old maps, like the one with the school, i really liked that one.

The gfx are much, much better than the old KF. Definetely worth the 13 euro.

Sabin and Silver - what are your STEAM names so I can add ya? Have yet to be able to get any of my buddies to buy this

Also, does anyone know what the max level of each class perk is? I would imagine Level 3?

There's no campaign, you can't have bots either (team mate bots). I wouldn't recommend it for singelplayer..

I've tried it, it's beyond terrible and pathetic in single player..
It may be good in multi.. anyway to play it with the GTI release ? I added it as a non steam game, but i get error each time i try to join the mp games (an unknown stem error is preventing you...).. nor do i get the perk level ups Sad

Heh, i bet this is the first of many. Multiplayer games tend to be patched a lot lately.

Can Sabin or someone else upload the patched files and the new ncf? Thanks a bunch

Unfortunately I lack the knowledge or dedication to rip Steam updated files .. mainly because I wouldn't even know where to start. I've already updated my game too :-\

Usually you just check the filedate and copy those files that have the most recent date albeit for certain games there's quite a few files to go trough.

EDIT: Oh right there's also utilities like the previously mentioned CF Toolbox utility to compare NCF file changes and so on to determine what's updated/added to a game after a update.
(Very handy if you learn to use them, haven't tried it much myself though but I will probably use it for future updates to titles I can use it with.)

Oh, right.

In that case, this should be piece of piss. Only two folders were updated today; system and textures. I can simply copy the newly updated files, there's not many of them. About 40MB, tops.

Killing Floor - update1.

http://www.mediafire.com/?ymmnhgkw3oa

Also included the updated NCF files too. system/textures folders go to your KF directory, NCFs go to wherever (Rolling Eyes I don't have the GTI release, so I don't know where you put them)

Just tried the game a bit via RevLoader and the latest version (That I know of) worked j ust fine, no need to Steam or other programs to be started and you can copy the game folder wherever you like.

The "steam_appid" file should contain the number 1250 (But there's one with the game as it is so another one is not required.) and though I'm unsure if it's needed be sure to rename the steamclient.dll file and rename it to for example steamclinet_x.dll and point to it via the RevLoader utility (Make sure it's a up-to-date version, if you have it installed you can just start steam and check for updates and then turn the program off and copy the file over and rename it.)

Exe name is just KillingFloor.exe with nothing special or so after it.
(Command line parameters and what not.)

Haven't really played it much but everything works as intended aside from of course official multiplayer related stuff.
(Private servers should be possible of course along with LAN and what else the game supports.)

EDIT: Nice of you to post the update. Smile

EDIT: Not much to say but the update works fine with the loader utility. Smile

EDIT: Little screen image, altered a bit to remove the HUD and I also used the "behindview 1" console command.
