I know the term "good" is subjective but Flogging Molly, Korn, The Killers, The Prodigy , Volbeat, Limp Bizkit, DragonForce and All That Remains really made me want to go to this festival.

But i wish i'd gone last year, 2008 lineup is ten times better:

Are u saying Prodigy or Manson or no? Confused. Cause Manson kills Prodigy. Been to fuck....7 or 8 shows. Aside from the music....amazing stage act. True entertainer.

There are actually a nice handful of bands I'd like to see but then again, I'm too poor to go to Rock am Ring since it got expensive as fuck in the last years, and I'm lazy and if I really went there I would drink too much, sleep too little and miss half the bands.
Although I'm pretty sure that is how you're supposed to go through festivals it's just not my thing, I tried it, went to Rock am Ring five years ago and that is exactly what happened.
Too much beer and all the other stuff that comes along with it. Except the "sleeping with a hot girl that is a total stranger to you" I somehow never got that down right.

it's still fun as hell if you go with a pack of friends and know someone who lives nearby so you can sleep in an actual house...i fucking hate tents since an incident years ago when i was banging my gf in my tent and some drunk guy crashed into it, bringing the whole thing down Laughing

but in the end, i find myself going more to "normal" concerts instead of festivals these days...might be more expensive, but you also get quality time (and you can still drag a complete stranger back home Very Happy ). maybe i'm getting old.

@bush

KraftWerk would be torture for me....christ. I dunno if its dance, electronica etc
But fuck...any venue with someone in it named "Andy C" spells shit to me.
No offence Bush.

@Nouse

Same here brother. Still, 1000 ppl is still somewhat a lil large. But not a bad size.
I prefer concerts in dives with a few hundred people, good metal bands and the whole FLOOR breaks into a pit and they allow stage diving.

@Nail

Ever been to that Metal Festival (dont know the name) in Germany?

Saw Lamb Of God at the Birmingham Acedemy (UK). There were only a few hundred people there, it was awesome! The singer had a really cool stage presence.

Same here man. I'm more partial to The Opera House (saw so many good concerts there - Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Killswitch, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir etc.

But The Phoenix is also good. Never gone there and not gotten picked up lol

Man, I bet we have seen each other dude and didn't know it Smile

EDIT

THe Warehouse is also pretty good. Around side of The Guverment. Even tho The Guverment used to be The Warehouse.....

Wacken?

Was planning on going last year, but then they sold out the week before I was going to buy the ticket. Very good bands also. Sad

This year there is some kind of aniversity so they sold out even faster. Without there being any bands of value, last time I checked the list.

Some day though. Some day. Care to join? Razz

I dunno if its called Wacken but its in a HUGE field and is featured in that documentary by that Canadian Anthropologist. Can't remember the first doc he did, but its at the start of his second doc, Global Metal.

Care to join? Dude, I am eventually going to that concert. Dunno when, but hopefully in the next 2 or 3 years.

EDIT

Yeah man, thats the one. Here's what I got when I searched the first documentary the guy made which is called Metal: A Headbanger's Journey

"Wacken Open Air, a huge concert drawing 40,000 metal fans from around the world to Germany each summer"

I wanna go to that SOOOOOO FUCKING BAD!!!!! Man......SOOOOO BAD! I've heard about it for years but then I saw it in that doc and man. Almost came in my pants brother lol Smile

Wacken and Hellfest are the only metal festivals worth the name "metal". A lot of good classic metal band. Never seen Vader, I'd love to see (and hear) them.
