Not really, but Leo's post is epic in helping you set the game perfectly - including all the DLC and instructions on how to patch and run via the loader.

whats with the update lark etc and steam? I in no way want to fuck my proper steam install, i thought this would be a straight forward non steam release..

vitality:

This game is steam and we did not have to use a █████████████▀▀
████ third party installer, because we ain't stupid!

Unpack ████
███▓ ~ Burn or mount ████
███▓ ~ Close autorun, run install.exe from the ViTALiTY folder ████
███▓ ~ Select a directory to extract the original installer ████
███▓ ~ Run dxsetup & gfwlivesetupe in <gamedir>\Install ████
███▓ ~ Copy the crack from the ViTALiTY folder ████
███▓ ~ Run xlive_start to start the game ████
█▀▀▓ ~ Create an xLive offline account if asked ████
▄░░▄ ~ Die like the rest

Is that any better ?
Edit: ah it dont matter what release.. oh well ill read the first post on technical Razz

Follow Leo's post, mate. Seriously - there's no need for steam when you use Rev-Loader (a Steam emulator, so to speak)

XLive still works, as does online play if you use a Club key, the only downside is patches come via Steam and not Xlive ... so you're fucked for each new patch unless someone rips and uploads it. JB did the latest up to 1.2.1, but now there is 1.3 to wait for Crying or Very sad

I'll see what I can do, don't have the game installed at the moment (Thought it would be a while after 1.2 before anything new was released and I certainly didn't expect any bigger changes as I thought focus were going towards addons like smaller DLC or expansions instead but it seems I was wrong.)

Will take some time though as the game is about 12 GB or so when fully downloaded plus sorting trough what files are actually updated and which are unaltered.
(Might need to get familiar with that CF Toolbox utility.)

Should hopefully not take that long, I'll see about uploading it to other sites as well to give a better choice of download location. Smile

Try www.mediafire.com it's really fast for both uploader and downloader, at least from my experience. Can even leech multiple files without any registration.

Curious question here, how come the download is 12gb (vitality was 7gb compressed so i can see 12gb yes) but my install is under 4gb, whats the beef with that.

I lost my Beta key and had a re-install, any way of finding it again so I can log back into Live and play it.

Read up about The Club key, but Sega emailed me and asked for a scan of the bloody game Sad

Your beta key wouldn't work anyways. You can probably find a key online fairly easy.

(I know they've banned them, but.. my worked from day one..and thought that i got lucky Neutral If so, i will never reinstall nothing on my PC Crying or Very sad

Post the NCFs, with them and the outdated version of the game i or anyone can easily know what files were updated, because CFToolbox will find that they don't match with what the new NCFs expect.

That's how i found what files were missing from Zeno Clash Very Happy

I recently bought a key for "The Orange Box" off g2play, dirt cheap (less than €10) and I got the key in less than 2hrs -- which is supposedly SLOW too Very Happy

You're missing the point. Zest was €1 more expensive, yet you still say "it's the best" - all I asked was how you figured that Rolling Eyes

*laughs* Sorry, I thought you were talking about TOB since your reply was to my comment about getting that from g2play Laughing

Shit, for €11 that's a bargain for DoW2.

But does Zest send you the cdkey just like G2Play, or do they ship you the boxed game?

I bought L4D in G2Play for €16.99 and got my key right away. Funny enough a week later it was being sold for $24 on Steam due to the Survival pack offer Laughing
