You get an "Aplication load error" because you're trying to start the game with ZenoClash.exe.
You need the rev-loader if you want the patched game to work, JB's patch has no crack for it.

No, this error is from the steamstub protection. He is running the revloader but something fucks up somewhere. Maybe not using the latest revemu dlls ?

I'm applying the patch now to test Very Happy

EDIT: After using the manual patch RevLoader still works fine on my Vista32 (temporary machine, lol)

If someone loads the CPY version while steam is open, and Steam is logged in to a legit account at the time, will Valve be able to see that the game was played and ban the account?

I think the game will "connect" to steam, and steam will detect the game as being played. But I don't think anyone was ever banned like this.

So never run the original executable, always run with the loader to keep it "offline"

Hi there, JB patch is missing several small files from the latest update. Most of them are updated character models.
You can get the list of files here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/4zgmzzdhtow/zenoc_missingfiles.txt

If JB or somebody else can post them here it would be great Very Happy

I used CF Toolbox, in the properties of the game (Install tab)
It's 22200

P.S.: You need to have a blank account so that CFT can connect to steam and get info. You can also download some stuff with it, same stuff you can download with a cracked steam client.

CFToolbox is only useful to download games (as long as they are freely available or you own them) and to check, correct and update incomplete or corrupt GCFs/NCFs.

Using this app i was able to know what files were missing from JB updated files for Zeno Clash.
Still hoping somebody will upload them for everyone Smile

Yeah the archive I uploaded was pretty hastily done and probably missed a few sound related files and perhaps some textures but I had no way to properly check that.
(Might have to try CF Toolbox myself, perhaps it can be used to find exactly which files were required and which were unaltered files.)

Yes, CFToolbox can make patches to update an old version of a certain game to the newest one, including on them only the necessary files. Also as i said, it can make a patch for an incomplete game, which even though "up to date" it is missing files.

It's really easy, simply set up the app to use your games folder and use this ".archive" file to make an update: http://www.mediafire.com/file/mei2yhmzzmt/zenoclashcontent.4.archive.7z. This will make an update with the files you forgot to include in your patch. It can then be applied by anyone also with CFToolbox.

This will save you loads of work since it will pack all the necessary files in a single file which can be compressed to make it way smaller.

If you prefer you can check the txt file i posted earlier, it has the list of missing files (no need for CFToolbox then).

These ".archive" files contain the info about the contents and version of the game on the machine it was created.
You can make your own .archive files to request updates and the like, based on the state of your own games (outdated, incomplete with missing files, etc).

If you need help on how to do all this just ask Smile

I didn't post the updated files. What I posted was a file that can be used in CFToolbox to pack the missing updated files from JB's pack.
Also separately, a list with the specific files in a txt

Finished the game once. Such an incredible game. Best game of the year so far, for me. Can't wait for the follow-up.

Going through it again, on an Achievement hunt.

We had already made a prototype of Zeno Clash during 2003 (at the time it was called ‘Zenozoik’). This game was probably too ambitious; it was supposed to have huge worlds, RPG elements like different character classes, problems that could be solved with multiple violent or non-violent solutions and a very incomplete first person melee combat system. Eventually we ended up with a demo which had a lot of things, but none of them were exceptional.

I hope that people (here and elsewhere) recognize that the only way we'll get any more games from ACE Team, is for people to buy Zeno Clash. I've done my part by buying the game, and I want to see more of not just the world of Zenozoik, but more of anything that ACE Team conjures up. I would hate to see them go, when it's obvious (by the ending of Zeno Clash, for instance) that there is still so much they have in store for us.

Using the text file posted previously (With the stuff missing from the archive I uploaded) I've re-uploaded the contents so it should be complete now, also posted the NCF files for those who need them. Smile

NCF:

Updated files:

(Could probably trim it down a bit but atleast it's finally complete, hehe.)

Took me about 4 hours to finish the story, but I was taking extra time here and there to soak up the scenery, looking for interesting little details. The Challenge Towers add a lot more playtime, and they get really tough.

Also, for Achievement hunters, there is plenty to do there as well. Smile

Great value for the $10 I paid.
