This has already been said but if you loved Splinter Cell, this game is for you. If hated that game, you should start looking elsewhere because this game requires patience.

patience is one thing, but boring repetition is another. can someone like deelix confirm its not all about watching the guards patterns all the way through. at least in splinter cell you could climb the walls around them...

There are often several ways to take care of guards. Shoot explosive barrels when they stand around chatting, pull the safety pin on some of the guards grenade, wizzle and lure guards into the water and turn on the electricity. You can sneak past and dont kill but if you do you get "punished". In this game you get experience points for each kill meaning if u dont kill you get lower score at the end of the level.

Sounds good enough for me. Odd about the 'penalty' for stealthplay that Ragtag mentioned tho.
(off-topic, but where the hell is that new SC game? Last one I played was Chaos Theory and been waiting that new one ever since).

After Chaos Theory came Double Agent. They butchered the vs mode and the co-op from CT isn't there, but as a single player game its great.

On the other end, it looks OK, and plays in a style that I like. I very much enjoyed the Splinter Cell series...maybe there will be a patch for people like me. |
Play PC version, 60FPS+ all the time.

Yeah I know DA came after CT, but I just never got around to playing it (wasn't the PC & 360 version made by some China studio instead of Ubisoft Montreal?) - guess I'll take a look at that while waiting.

Double Agent wasn't good - even the Xbox version from Ubi Montreal. Imo you're not missing anything if you don't play it.

Double Agent on 360 is different than PC version?

I agree DA kinda sucked. I actually purchased my xbox 360 because I was looking forward to that game and then purchased the game on the day it came out and was highly disappointed. Id rather play Chaos Theory again.

No. The Xbox version (and PS2 version) is different but the Xbox360 version is the same as the PC version.

yup i gotta agree with azzman. seems like someone took the roll out of the oven before it was completely brown. even then i dont know if it would've been that good. it's like they took all the good stuff out of splinter cell, crammed it into a WWII setting and then said "there ya go, have fun". morphine mode is just dumb - i can't walk up in the guys face without getting shot but oh wait, i can rail this morphine and all of a sudden i can run in circles around him. would've made more sense if they had made it like bullet time with max payne.
i will admit to 2 things i have noticed with games - if you can't jump or save anywhere they usually suck.
come to think of it i never finished pandora tomorrow... i know the disc is around here somewhere.

I'll agree on the jump thing, at least if it's the kind of game where you would expect to be able to jump. As for the save system, well that doesn't apply at all. There are many games for the 360 with a checkpoint save system that are great. Assault on Dark Athena and Wolverine to name two recent ones.

ahh shit and i was really looking forward to trying both of those out hehe
seriously tho, the save thing doesn't really make it a bad game it's just that for me it can be really irritating. i hate being made to replay something over and over. even if it's really fun after so many times it gets to be annoying as all hell. it gets frustrating, especially in a game like this, to sneak around and spend 3 minutes silently killing your enemy only to have something go wrong and then restart from the checkpoint and have to do it over. especially if you do it many times because that 3 minutes after 10 tries becomes a half hour. i guess it's more of a personal preference.

i still haven't went back after quitting the other night but i hope to play some tonight. does shooting the tanks on their backs help any? i'm playing on the hardest difficulty and haven't found this to be hard at all yet but i'm gonna be pissed if i can't finish the very last level cause of some cheesy ass "end boss" fight. it's bad enough to have wasted this much time and then not be able to complete it... GRRRR hehe
