its more hitman than splinter cell i think... it's mainly like thief though i'd say.
it seems to have alot of potential - i'm now on the second level and so far it's been an interesting ride. aside from the general sneaking around and executing germans, there is a morphine mode whereby you can, for a little while, "freeze everything" and approach a situation safely. i.e. use it, and then run across a heavily guarded part of the level without detection. It's pretty cool and I look forward to using it in the future - I just hope that it's not available too much or else it might make the game a bit easy. The game is however very linear - theres one set way to go.
that said, I died a number of times in level one - the AI seems pretty good - well, the enemies can see quite a long way into the distance anyway. I have come across a few bugs already, but no show stoppers. Graphically it's very nice, but probably about 6 months behind the top runners. It does stutter quite a bit - but not overly noticably and the framerate certainly wont detract from your enjoyment of the game.
it's early days yet, but the gameplay seems solid. the story is told as a memory, thus although we know she must survive, it's clear from the ofset that it's going to be a bumpy ride. I'd recommend you all check it out - my general feeling - somewhere between 7.5 and 8.5 / 10 at this point.
oh, and patching from WAVE3 to WAVE2 as described worked a treat. Those using the old dashboard will need to upgrade first by downloading the update and installing from a cd / memory card (if you're banned, and I'm assuming you are).
Good luck and enjoy!

Too bad, but it still sounds interesting. I'll give it a try once I've finished Riddick.

PC version is great, runs silky smooth, so if you have a decent PC and experience slow downs with 360 version you should try the game on PC.

What do you mean, thats a good thing! The 'stealth' in Hitman was weak to say the least, although it was a good game overall.

Just look at what the guards are doing. THINK and make a plan before you make your move.

Does the final mission rating take TIME as a factor? Or can you really just take your time to plan your route and actions?

not to try and get too far off topic but when do you guys think these games will have what i would call "real" next gen graphics?
for instance - the first level, the bushes that you can hide in - when are they gonna stop taking a bunch of 2 dimensional textures and putting them into an X pattern and then cramming all that together to make bushes, and ditto with the tree tops? i want to see invidividual hairs on their heads and foliage that looks and acts like foliage, not like cardboard cutouts designed to sway in the wind and faces that look real and show real emotion. i'm not dissing this game when i say this, but to me she looks like a mannequin with makeup on. brings back memories of kim cattrall come to think of it... heh

It's probably due to the devs, the UE3 engine can display much better graphics than this. It's also partly UE3's fault, there are games on the Xbox looking much better. UE3 looks fake and bulky, sadly all games using UE3 look almost alike.

The game doesn't use UE3! Some weak graphics here and there are probably because of the long development time.
