Demos and DLC can still be downloaded with Live Silver. Gold is only for playing against others.

Just to clarify Smile

Yes that's true but back before I was banned from Live Gold users got demos a week before silver users had access to them which is pretty fucking lame. I'm pretty sure that it's still like that now aswell.

First of all, it's not 40 pounds, more like half if you buy it at other places than game stores or xbox.com

Secondly - that money is well worth it for a more enhanced and feature-rich online experience.

And yes, i have both systems.

More enhanced and feature rich? Give us a break. You're paying for a peer to peer experience which is far better on the PSN which incidentally supports more players online a lot of the time in a lot of games.

The onky thing that I think that Live has over PSN is the friends list and how it's incorporated into games for seemless invites across different games. Apart from that, what's better?

It's a rip off!

The thing I like most happens to be the friends list and the integration of it, actually.

I base my opinion off the "new" Dashboard.
I like how easily i have access to my friends list, to see what they're playing or doing, how i can easily invite them to the game im playing. Or how we can have a chatroom for just us friends, talking while we're all playing completely different games.

The scoreboards - an example is Forza 2 and GT5P - in FM2, just select a gamertag from the board you're viewing (and there happens to be many of them, wich i like), view what he's playing or doing, his achievements, his friends and so on. And his presentation. Or just invite him/her to play, message or add as friend.

Then there's the whole gamertag/card-thing. Like avatar, country, motto, short presentation, friends list, gamerscore/achievements, games recently played, all games ever played, comparing games, messaging and invitation to either game or chat.

All this also feels more streamlined and easily accessible on Live.
And yes, i mention achievements a couple of times, and i'm well aware of Trophies. They just don't seem very interesting compared to achievements and gamerscore, but that's just me.

Also, why can I only redownload the suff i've BOUGHT off PSN a limited number of times?

Even if any of you find some of this unneccessary - I don't care - still doesn't change the fact that I think Live is worth the money and I'm happy with it. Still, if playing online on the PS3 also costed money, i'd probably pay for it too.

I already agreed with you on the friends list. It's bettter on the 360. Gamercards and achievement points don't interest me though.

As far as I know, you can download the things that you purchase from the PSN as many times as you like as long as it's on the same console. What I believe that you are referring to here is the ability to download those items to a total of 5 different PS3's which is something that you cannot do on the 360 with your live purchases.

You CAN permanently transfer the stuff from one 360 console to another using the DRM tool.
Also, DLC is available to ANY 360 console as long as your on it and logged in with the gamertag it is bought under.

You're right. You've just reminded me that I've actually done this myself way back in the begining of the 360 to play geometry wars on my mates 360. Thank's for joging my memory.

The difference though is that on the PS3 you don't need to log into the account which purchased it to play it. You can actually remove the account that purchased the DLC from the PS3 and still play the games ..I think.

I've been playing the demo on expert since it leaked and i have to say the game really favour's strikers. Against the CPU ground fighting is ok but when it comes to multiplayer i think the BJJ guys will be screwed.

Its far too easy to escape submissions and next to impossible to submit early in a fight. On the flip side a striker can end the fight in an instant. I suppose it mirrors the sport well but in terms of gameplay the balance is totally out of whack. I'm hoping they make some changes in the final build. Either way can't wait for it, love to see a leak early next month.

Actually you can't remove the account off the ps3, but you don't need to log in with that account which means the person who owns the account can change the password for his safety and the game will never ask you to provide the password as long as you have the account activated on your ps3. This is highly useful when you want to gameshare the PSN games and DLC's with 4 other friends. A lot of people actually split up the cost 5-way and can download the stuff unlimited number of times on those 5 ps3's. One of the reasons I like the ps3 better. There isn't a great amount of titles to select from compared to XBLA though.

also... lolz@offtopic console wars.

Played the demo a bit.I have never played a UFC game before and only watched it on TV once or twice but i found the demo pretty fun. Against the AI, it just became a game of button mashing and countering till i knocked him out but maybe that changes on higher difficulty. Against human opponents though it was a lot more strategic.

I agree, in all of the preview videos they kept talking about introducing people to submissions in this game. But when you cant submit the opponent early in the game, let alone middle of the fight, what good are submissions for?

I can't believe there isn't alot of interest in this game man.
Seriously, this is the best fighting game you will play, end of.
Shits all over them tekkan and street fighter games.
Online will be fucking class, the controls moves and layout for this game has to be the best I've ever played, the submissions are very hard to get out of.
Other then that, i am getting this mofo.

I didn't really enjoy the demo that much, it didn't feel intuitive enough, unlike Fight Night. For example, the blocking system would work better if you could hold one button, then press up or down on the right analogue stick to change the height of the block.

Still I did have some fun when I floored my mate and then proceeded to bash his brains out on the matt with blood flying everywhere. Very satisfying. Very Happy

Haha, You might be able to re-map the controls in the full version?
But the submission parts are hard to get out of, especially after a few bevvys which i had last night.

The Demo say May 19 as release date. I thought the demo was too easy, especially with Chuck because they made his punches and kicks so powerful. A couple of high kicks land flush and the fight is over. I haven't had a fight going into round 2. I actually wanted to see the scoring system, but was never able to because I kept knocking my opponent out. I had a lot of fun with Mauricio because Chuck is a tough guy in the game. You can knock him down several times without KO'ing him. Ofcourse can also finish him if you want, but it's more fun letting him stand back up and knocking him down again and then finish him with a flying knee.

I'm n 1 here but, change the difficulty setting in options, it is on beginner at the start of every game, try it on expert, come back, then say that Laughing

Mirko Cro Cop.

He no longer fights in the UFC which is why he is not in the game. Although there has been rumour of a possible return but it's unlikely. Cro Cop is done.

+1000
Been watching UFC since the very first one... when the only rules were no biting and no eye gouging. When there weren't any weight classes and when there weren't any rounds. When there were no judges... because you fought until someone gave up or went to sleep. When Royce Gracie was making everyone from Kung Fu experts to professional boxers look STUPID no matter their size with his jiu jitsu. Hell, I watched Royce Gracie and Dan Severn fight for 50 minutes straight. You really got your money's worth back then. lol.
