Tick them and then leave it, they untick if you use that option again but they're ticked until then, can also use a third party utility like the Fallout Mod Manager or similar to manage modifications.
(For official ones this isn't needed but load order is useful for other modifications, unofficial patches for example.)

Broken Steel Arrives May 5th

Fallout 3’s third DLC, Broken Steel, will arrive on Games for Windows LIVE and Xbox LIVE on May 5th.

Pity there's no release of The Pitt available except for a dubious noname ThePitt.exe file floating around. :/

Oh, checked out the price of Fallout 3 @ STEAM: €44.99... That's £40... $58.50...

Ridiculous. At least Play.com wants only £26 and you can get it used for £16.99! My contempt for Steam just got back to normal levels again. Wink

Yes, found it and installed it, and both expansions are sending radio now. Not going to touch them until later on, perhaps when Broken Steel have been released.

Same!!

I've had both expansions since they were released, got the radio signals and then quit the game. I'm not going to play either until Broken Steel has been released. I want to do everything in one go ^_^

playing anchorage isn't really quite a deal breaker it's just a linear shooter experience, play it if you want more fallout 3 while waiting for broken steel, I finished anchorage and I still have to play the pitt yet

Finished The Pitt yesterday. Was a nice addition after sneaking trough the old content multiple times (yes I love stealthy gameplay).
Enjoyed the part where I just kept looking for all steel ignots ^_^ Though the last reward was crap concidering my talents, the perforator is a cute gun.

Just started Anchorage, hopefully that's just as enjoyable!

I am planning on playing this game again.
But I wanted to know what mods to install....
I'm not really looking for mods wich throws more weapons in the world. More like texture mods etc.

I saw a HD texture pack. This any good? or should I get another one?
What other nice mod are out there to improve gameplay.
I heard of a mod wich makes the crippling effect more real. Like when your head is crippled, your vision is bad.

That "HD texture pack" is just a compilation and is also severly outdated by now so I don't recommend it.

Check the Fallout3Nexus under "Models and textures" and see what you like.
(Yes there's a lot of files so it's going to take time but it's a bit difficult to suggest anything as it's down to user preference.)

Agreed. Everyone's playing style is different - and what WE may think looks, or feels, good; you may not. The best thing you really can do is just briowse the Nexus and see what grabs your eye.

1.5 patch out, supports new Broken Steel achievements and probably not much else, no changelog at the moment but it just recently appeared via LIVE.

Oh and as usual utilities like FOSE will need to be updated to work with this version.

EDIT: Level 30 spoiler.

Actually that was a bit incorrect, reports from the official forums indicate that the VATS perks are now working correctly but so far there's mixed reports about the VATS related lag and you can't target projecticles like grenades or missiles like in 1.0.0.35 plus there's still a bit of that HDR flickering for SLI/Crossfire setups.

EDIT: New screens from the next DLC.

Is this a game bug or its this how the game is supposed to do ?

Patch 1.5 seems to cause a few issues with modifications and savegames. Sad

Lets hope the guy that worked on the FakePatch will update it for use with the 1.5 patch.

Then we will not have to install that BS of a patch and still be able to use the DLC.
