Yes, we are fooling around, why take everything so seriously?

Not necessarily (I liked RSV1/2), but it kind of ruined the old Rainbow Six experience (perhaps you haven't played them, you seem to be from the 360/PS3 era). On the other hand, on Brothers in Arms, it was already meh and certainly not necessary.
These cover system were created because people found it too difficult to lean, like Predator_Soul said.
i agree, the games like R6, BiA was too easy with this cover system because when u get in cover it transfers u in 3rd person u see everything behind cover and u can rotate the view to see even more...why don't they make a cover system in 1st person it will be much better

Installed fine, Gold edition so no patch needed, no crack needed either. Videos work, music works, voices work - but black screen except for HUD which is blurred out when you look around.
Quit, look for patches, find one. Works. Graphic glitches are gone - but so are music, videos and voice.
Find another, this one labeled specifically for nVidia cards () Same as loading the game without fixes. Audio and videos work, graphics are gone except HUD. Meh!! Guess I'll stick to AvP2.

Coversystem was good imo but regenerating health was really lame. At least if you were looking for a classic Rainbow Six game where you could get shot once or twice and then it was night night. That was what I loved about the early R6 and SWAT games, it at least tried to be realistic. Don't get me wrong I liked R6V a lot, it was great fun in coop but it was just another action-FPS.
The cover system was implemented because people taught it was too hard to lean from a fucking corner.
I guess it works in tactical games like the Rainbow Six series but in fast FPS action oriented games it dumbs/slows down the gameplay. Take the COD,UT series for example...fast and fun single and multi gameplay.
It would be nice if they introduced new body awareness mechanics. Imagine melee engagements a la Chronicles of Riddick or Dark Messiah with an alien or even a predator. That would be freakin' fun and exciting stuff.
I hoped Mirror's Edge would bring more designers to interduce more body awareness. On the other hand Killzone 2 has coversystem in firstperson view, it works good and doesn't make the game feel slow. (I think at least)
A but of offtopic
.. seeing the talk about R6V2.. I really enjoyed the cover system (also for the fact that it let's you see you awesome customized toon).
The cover is really a must while playing on realistic difficulty - especially on terrorist hunt
Realistic - is the difficulty to play this game, one- two shots and you are dead if not in cover..

The first black screen sounds like you're forcing AA in the nvidia CPL, turn off gamma correction .
Yup, I'm definitely forcing AA in my nVidia control panel, definitely! Honest!
Seriously though; NO AA is being forced. I DON'T use an nVidia card. I already know what the issue is - it's a well known one and is still being worked on (MyAVP, a patch released to combat these issues, had an update as recent as the 25th of March 09)
What spelling? I don't HAVE an nVidia card .. so how am I going to check. Oh forget it. Thanks<!> for trying to help, but it didn't work.
Lol, I love it when people just assume things, don't you?
I'll grab AvP1 and see if I can get anywhere with it too then, since I'm on a 4870. Who knows, it could just be a conflict with the current drivers.
On topic, I know you guys were joking with the cover system and regenerating health, but I wouldn't put it past the devs these days. I want my health packs back
