No, not stupid GoW cover system again... They feel they need to put that in almost every tps game these days! |
you mean Kill.switch.... anyway so what, in real life you would look for cover and shot from it so whats wrong in that |
the fact when your ducked down you shouldn't still be able to see half a mile down the road but should be limited to what yours eyes see.

we still talking about video games, right?
coz u know if u want realism u can die from single shot to the head or at least bleed to death in secs
realism=boring
besides cover in m2 loox ten times better than in geow, plus your character in the middle of the screen, the way it's suppose to be in tps
gta4 used cover system too, didn't saw anyone bitching about it

if it's done right then I'll be ok with it but so far the one one I've liked it done in was winback (n64, the first game to do it I think) and RS6 Vegas.
kane & lynch had the worse by far

Looks good execpt that I miss the old fasion healthbar. The cover system is good but then use it like GTA 4. You get hit, you lose health not some stupid COD recharge system.

+1.
There is no sense of accomplishment when you get shot 50 times, then run around a corner to regenerate health like in every other dribble fest these days. Look at GTAIV for example. Completely one sided. You shoot cops and they stumble all over the place, what happens when you get shot? Fuck all. Then people whinge cause it's too easy. You need a mod to fix it so it's even. If people don't feel like they're winning or 'having fun' in which they can only have by winning, then games won't sell these days, so they add shit like auto aim, health regen, and pickups every second step.
Fuck your arcade shit, bring on realism any day. There are enough unrealistic games out there as it is. And as this is MAFIA 2 then it should follow the path of the previous game by doing so.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/04/19/rps-preview-mafia-ii/
a couple of snippets:
Quote: | Flammable materials will catch light when you throw a Molotov cocktail at them, and the heat fire generates will even cause nearby tyres to burst. |
Quote: | If it’s raining, or snowing as it is at the start of the game, then driving is affected. |
Quote: | 2K Czech have their own motion capture studio, which is but a small part of the effort that’s going into the cutscenes. The motion capture actors were even given real weapons (something a developer wryly mentioned wouldn’t have been possible in other European countries) to ensure their movement was affected by the weight of each gun correctly. |
Quote: | Perhaps the most important element of the Illusion Engine is the complete absence of loading. Now, we’ve had this promise before from others, but 2KC are adamant it’s true this time. The entire city will manage all its buffering in the background, offering a seamless drive, but even missions will load without your knowing. |
the last part about missions loading in background hopefully won't mean horrible stuttering most of the time (there weren't too many loading screens in gothic 3 either..)
