They served too much for one episode. So Zoe is the first independent cylon, this feels strange considering that bsg never did show any centurion being capable of independency. Besides being rushed it felt too far fetched.
It's nice to finally have a face for the constructor of apocalypse.
8.5/10 for the pilot.
edit: WTF?! SERIES STARTING IN 2010? NOOO

Of course they showed independent centurions, both the old ones in Razor, and the newer ones in the cylon civil war.

I hardly remember them speaking or showing any emotions(yeah, i know how this sounds). All later centurions were lobotomized by skin jobs.

They explained the lack of the Centurion's independence due to the skinjobs feeling superior and removing a chip. But the old models seen in Razor were speaking.

Wow, finished watching the pilot earlier today and was totally surprised. I'm one of the few that didn't get "into" the modern Battlestar Galactica thing and didn't follow the series. This on the other hand was quite amazing. At first there was a lot of guesswork at what was actually happening, but after a certain event all the guesses were confirmed and everything was clear.
Btw, SciFi channel changed their name to the new and 'cool' SyFy Channel. Thought I'd mention that. I hope they change it back.

Not looking forward to this but at least its done by guys who know how to do Sci-Fi so I will give it a chance.
And if they don't bring back The Terminator and Eureka....won't be anything else to watch cause SG:U Season 1 will be over by the time Caprica debuts I think.

Today (22/01/10), finally, SyFy (retarded name) will start airing Caprica. The season will start with the pilot, which we've already seen long ago, but from next week, we can expect new episodes.

If you haven't seen BSG , forget about this. The first 2 - 3 seasons are some of the best sci-fi television ever, not to be missed.

I haven't watched the old ones, but I believe that Caprica is somewhat more related to new BSG than old, so would recommend watching the new ones first...

Ok I want to start watching galactica and I found this "proper watching order":
01. 2003 Miniseries
02. Season 1
03. Season 2
04. The Resistance Minisodes
05. Season 3
06. Razor
07. Season 4 EP 1-10 Midseason
08. The Face of The Enemy
09. Season 4 After EP 10-20
10. The Plan
Should I watch them in this specific order?

So anyways is Caprica any good ?

Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!

The new series doesn't have much to do with the old one except the names and the setting.

No, insisting on a male Starbucks instead of Katee Sackhoff sounds much more gay to me.

Hmmm... I'm watching bsg right now but everything seems so.. flat and basic. No drama, no real tension, basic dialogues and the cgi isn't very well done (and they reuse so much scenes that it is annoying) :/ Don't know if I should go on or not... Will it be any better?

If anything, it will be probably censored, as the one on DVD contained nudity.

BSG is one of the best shows to hit television, especially up to season 2 (including), where the political drama puts any political show to shame. But you have to remember it's a drama, not space pow pow pow. Personal dramas are where the show shines. If you want pow pow pow, watch Stargate (coincidentally, all space action in BSG is better than anything done in film or television, with the sole exception of Serenity, but it was done by the same CGI studio).

Thank god this show is finally starting, the wait since seeing the pilot has been killing me! Also I just realized I somehow missed BSG: The Plan and if it's anything like Razor, which I loved, I must go see it now.

That Plan was pretty naff, it was like a compilation of deleted scenes.
