indeed, cod4 had the profile in the game folder, i guess the devs think that in case a reinstall (of the game) happens, the profile info is saved for later
you're in bg? i was born there hah
i'm still wondering why 1.3 still hasnt fixed the broken coop/zombie server browser!

I hate to say this, but just buy the game (or at least a cheap cdkey), it's really worth it for online play. There's also official map pack coming soon.

Looks like map pack for PC will be coming sometime later after March 19 console only release, but it's OK because it will most likely be free (just like CoD4 map pack for PC). I guess they don't want to make console fanboys cry releasing PC map pack for free at the same time.

fyi for those interested,
the pezbot mp bot's mod for WaW is supposed to be available on/around the 15th.
really nice to add into LAN or if you are too high a ping to get into a real MP match (ie stuck with 56k)

ranks work as well, which for me is great cause when i moved to bfe it pretty much crippled my CoD4 game, and i bought WaW anyways since its such a great series.

dunno, i played BF2 and 2142 for quite awhile before buying CoD4, and when i got it i never played the BF series again. gone are the chopper hogs leading the scoreboard round after round. granted, i may have been burnt out on BF2. i just think CoD is alot better tactical experience, not only is there a UAV still but you can be spotted by firing your weapon on the minimap, you can actually fire thru certain walls as it should be, and you dont have to be commander to call in strikes (you just gotta be good enough to get some streaks). the unlock/customization system is also superior in CoD by a landslide. im not a graphics whore at all, but yea CoD looks alot better imo as well.
i cant really speak for WaW online though cause im stuck without a broadband option right now, and i heard there are tanks and i wouldnt be surprised if there was a artillery and airstrike option.
but imo MW was alot more fun online than BF2/2142 ever was for me.

i have a legit version, at the bottom of the screen it says "new version available" yet im using steam version, wouldnt it have auto updated?

Steam version updates are usually delayed. What you should do is write down the cdkey you got with Steam version, install DVD version using that key and then patch to 1.4. You won't be able to play single player until no dvd crack is out but MP exe is always unprotected. I did this with CoD2 I bought from Steam and no problems ever.

A buddy of mine for his CE key globally PB banned for using a lvl 65 fix, I was wondering if anyone know if there still are fast-xp servers out there I read about.
I just don't have time to get what all the 12-year olds already have for playing 50 hours a week.
