We always play Alex - Wesker. You really do need a shotgun sometimes
Spoiler: | Probably been unlucky but my friend (he played Wesker yesterday) found it hard to find magnum rounds at the ship mission, in total we killed 3-4 chainsaw guys, but then he ran out.. and that was after searching ALOT around. Its a big map, and its important to stick together. Its still a damn stressful map. Sometimes I really wish I could run with reload at least |
|
Spoiler: | That map has atleast 4 rocket launchers scattered around the map, make sure to grab those, can take out both the chainsaw guys in one hit. Wesker is so much better in his S.T.A.R.S loadout. He's got weapons to take on a whole army. |

Just finished, and phew, what a game. Finally i had a reason to turn on my xbox which was gathering dust, now hopefully there will be a good pc port so we can have mods (and maybe mouse aim).
I did miss the inventory system from re 4 as i was always low on space.
The game had nice boss fights (except maybe the very last one, i didnt think it was epic enough), and some of the cutscene had amazing choreography, something you'd see in the matrix.
Once i finished i immediately started again, i bought infinity ammo for the deagle, and 1 shotting everything now, even that big dude with the axe on the first level went down after few shots. Now i'll try to farm some money and get more infinity ammo for other guns.

so the VERSUS mode is now available for purchase. Bought the small DLC content from the European PSN store for £3.99 (what.. no Thursday?).. guess it will be out on LIVE now too.
Okay played it for a bit, got humilated in some games lol. Versus game mode is ok and pretty good. Run/stop/shooting works better then you would expect and joining and hosting games is a breeze online and relatively quick. Survivor games have a hunt or be hunted feel to them which is fun. Player vs player or 2v2 team. There are still monsters in survival mode but scoring is strictly based on damage done too and received by players only. Slayer is an extension of mercs mode with more players and more carnage.
download was only 351kb for £3.99 hmm.. content like this used to be free and standard in games.

So, in theory, wouldn't you be able to have a 4-player coop merc session in slayer?
It's out on Live to, but servers are so clogged up you can't buy any points.

I started playing RE5 2 days ago (finally bought me some verbs to burn it) and it fucking ROCKS!!
Just what i expected from a sequel (sorta...) to awesome RE4. I was worried about the AI of Sheva and overally the concept of a henchman in the game but it aint that bad.
Does anybody have problem with Sheva firing a rifle? I give her the rifle (she's pretty accurate so i thought - why not?) but she is not firing it, she just holds her in hands.

Don't think I've had any problems with her using one. But then again, I never give her the valuable weapons, she does fine with just a pistol.

yeh Deztroy, in theory I guess they could have included a 4player coop in Mercs mode... perhaps L4D beat them to it!. Although they would probably have to ramp up the number of infected that they throw at you though..
Sheva usually just picked a gun at random when I played.. and usually the worst one for the occassion too. Although the AI controlled Sheva is pretty accurate with whatever gun she is holding though.. the only problem I had was with getting her to run away from some of the tougher enemies. At times she would just stand her ground with a pittance of health shooting away with her crappy pistol then BLAM she dead.

4.1 is great for gold farming. You can get 8000 or so in around 5 minutes. Unless you want to do the egg glitch of course.
Yes, treasures respawn.

Try 3-1 (Marshlands) You can easily get over 15k in there in one run. But the best thing is you dont have to fight ANYTHING (just be careful not to spawn enemies and dont pick up any keys, only treasures, as keys trigger enemy spawns) and dont bother going into crock den as there is only one stone but you risk getting eaten, plus you can stockpile on RPGS that in the middle of the lake. And of course every run you get a chance to find some ammo. If you are extra lucky you'll find golden eggs.
And yes everything respawns, including treasures and weapons. Once you got everything you wanted out of the map, quit making sure that you save your inventory when exiting. Then start up the same chapter, and keep doing it as long as you want.

After you finish a chapter, you noticed how you get points? Those points are exchange points. You also get them for playing The Mercenaries and Versus.

Woohoo, just finished. What an epic and satisfying ending, really feels like I completed a game and not just got cut off in the middle of it (lol fable2). 9/10 game imo, main negative point being outdated RE control scheme.
