Performance mods eh? Is it playable on dualcores with these mods?
I honestly wish they'd stop this DLC stuff and make a full blown expansion like they did with GTA3...

Yeah, I certainly hope so too! It really can't be too hard to implement, IMO.

Look for; Environmental Mod v2, Ultimate Graphics Tweak and XTC Coronas. Also I strongly recommend, if you don't like the standard "boat-like" handling that Cockstar implemented, the "HandlingRC7" mod. Those combined make the game so much better, both in looks, performance AND playability.

Maybe they can implement a few of the new gameplay mechanics from the DLC with a mod. There are certainly lots of improvements I'd like to see carried over to the PC version.

Well it actually got me playing GTA4 again, so I consider it worth it. The new bike handling is great, makes riding them a lot of fun, coupled with the sawn off shotgun you can use while driving this can make for some thrilling chases.
Then there is the gang mechanic, whereby your comrades gain experience the more battles they survive, and later on you get to take command of the gang yourself.
Plus you can call on a mobile gun shop wherever you are, and also order a motorbike if you find yourself stuck without a vehicle.
The narrative also feels a lot tighter, with each mission seeming to progress the story in some way. Personally though I've spent most of my time doing the road rash style races, and the gang war activity.

iNatan i want to use some mods on gta 4, but i still dont know how, i have razor with patch 1.0.2, do i need some asi loader for it, but reading some forums i saw people complaining about some compatibility problems especially for vista please help mate!. If u know of the file that lets u apply mods on game please send me a link. By the way the performance tweak u helped me with worked, now game runs smoother. thankx.

Hm, have no idea. :\ I just know that most mods require xliveless, or otherwise they don't work. |

xliveless? hmmm... then no mods then, i prefer my 100 percent working version of gta than to screw it up for some mod. Anyways, i needed the mod to make some cash in game, any idea how to make big bucks except for blowing armored truck in game?.

What makes you worried about xliveless? I've been using it in conjunction with the latest patch, and everything works flawlessly (except of course MP and achievements).

Yes, xliveless + razor crack for 1.0.2 + patch 1.0.3 + mods = victory
Btw, any decent mod for the ridiculous boat-like handling ? I tried "realistc driving" mod RC7 but it didn't change too much, mainly made the cars a little faster, but still they turn like shit !

Just drop the dll in the game's folder. While you're using xliveless the savegame location is moved elsewhere, you'll have to move them yourself for the game to see them, it's explained in the readme.txt

ok thanx i got it!, now i hear the save games are moved elsewhere, should i worry about my game progress or the save games remain intact in other different place?. I ask because i only have 1 chance to make it work or its all lost.
