OK but why would one install this old bonus pack if there's a newer Mega Bonus Pack that also has ECE Bonus Pack in it too?
Quote: | Unreal Tournament 2004 - Mega Bonus Pack
This bonus pack includes everything you need to update UT2004 to the most current version, including the latest patch, and the content from the first (Editor's Choice Edition) bonus pack for UT2004. You can install this bonus pack on any version of UT2004. |

Yeah I know truth hurts, much easier to ignore it.

Misinformation? It's you who is spreading misinformation constantly here. You act like you know everything but you just end up being confused about stuff and confuse others too. Like now for example. You quoted readme from Editor's Choice Edition (which is old) and does in fact require a certain patch.
I, on the other hand, linked to the new Mega Bonus Pack (which doesn't require any patch and also includes Editor's Choice Edition pack) and also quoted from its readme.
Then you copy pasted my post in large font (why?)
You talk about old bonus pack and I about the new one. So since the talk started about the new bonus pack first, why would you then bring in install info from the old bonus pack and go into your typical loop of confusion?

From Carball Manual (UT2004 Mod):
Quote: | Some issues are caused by installing game updates in the incorrect order. You should install the basic game, the Epic ECE Bonus Pack, then the most recent patch and do so in that order. Installing a patch before installing the ECE Bonus Pack can cause many strange and hard to identify issues with UT2004, including UMOD issues. If you installed game updates in the wrong order, you may have some success by just installing the most recent patch again. Uninstalling the game, then reinstalling it, then adding the ECE Bonus Pack, then installing the most recent patch should not be necessary, however you may wish to do so if all else fails.
It may be helpful to know that Epic Games has released a bonus pack called the "UT2004 Mega Pack" which includes the ECE Bonus Pack and the 3369 patch in one file. |
I would suggest applying these updates in the following order:
Quote: | ut2004-ECEBonusPack1-1.exe **
ut2004-winpatch3369.exe **
ut2004megapack.exe
** Made redundant by the Mega Pack so they are no longer necessary |
then these can be installed in any order after the above are applied:
Quote: | cbp1.zip
cbp2-volume1_zip.zip
cbp2-volume2_zip.zip
AS-Confexia.zip
dm-forbidden.zip
ut2004-onsbonusmappack.zip |
I've followed the above procedure for my installation and so far it has worked flawlessly. The files are available from Beyond Unreal's download section.

@sabin the UT2k4AutoPatcher only works for 32bit OS & i have vista 64 so its no good but no big problem as i have already bought the game & i will use the key to play online.
ok so far i have installed the following files & i want to know do i need anything else ?
Chaosut_V1-1_Full
ut2004-ECEBonusPack1-1
ut2004megapack
ut2004winpatch3369
i think the mega pack already contains the 3369 patch but i copied the files from the patch to the game dir to be sure everything is installed correctly.
also is there anyway i can play the game @ 1920x1080 res ? thanks

Ooops, forgot to mention that >_>
I just had my mate run the patcher and send me the two fixed files, because I'm also on x64.

What's the md5 hash of the correct UT2k4AutoPatcher ? I compared the one at filefron with one from a torrent and they're different.
@NForce2007
Check your controls, reset them to defaults or something

hmm, i installed retail 2004, then applied the 3369 patch and played for awhile.
then i installed the cbp 1 and 2 vol 1 and 2, then applied the megapack, and installed the Alien Swarm mod,
now when i go to single player tournament, it says my character originated on another machine and is ineligible to unlock characters.
is there any way to fix this? i played for quite awhile before it screwed up.

yea i figured it was just a version incompatibility i didnt notice in any patch notes, and after all being mainly a MP game who cares about the Tournament anyways.
no biggie i just started a new profile...
and yea 2004 is great, lots of really nice mods out there for it as well.
i still think UT GOTY is still the very best version of all, still great after all these years.
