Does anyone have a list, or even recommendations, for online titles (FPS and TPS, but primarily FPS if possible) that have character customisation and/or progression/unlocks? Please?
Playing BF:H, a really really poor game, has made me want to play others like it now. I love online shooters - but the best ones are most definitely the ones that you progress in, rather than just playing the typical "score 30 points. You win!" types.
I've got my eyes on Global Agenda and Huxley, but neither of those are out yet ('cept Korea for Huxley)

Gunz isn't a lagfest - it just uses a different ping/lag system compared to most games. It's more of a whiny bitch/premium heals/ego whore fest.

Planetside is a nice MMOFPS, no idea how active it is at the moment however.

Also tried get neocron working but it seems they have issues with payment sites so only old accounts are free.

It's sorta like an MMO so I'm pretty sure you'll get to be able to use the full game and all it's features. o.O

not all of these are online and not all have character progression, so you'll have to dig around a bit.
i played combat arms for a while, it has weapon upgrades and other shit that you can unlock by progressing, but sooner or later micropayments will come in, if ya want to buy the better gear that you unlock. you can gain points by playing but you'd have to be very good to be able to afford the better guns without paying.

Cheers for the info, although what payment option did you choose? I tried paypal but it only says certificate has expired. And i don't wanna go all the way on the paybycash site until i know it won't charge me 'til the trial expires.
