Just download the update, burn to cd, install then patch your 3rd wave games with the ppf patcher file that's available.
REMEMBER DO NOT GO ONTO LIVE WHILE PLAYING PATCHED GAMES OR LEND TO FRIENDS, THEY WILL BE BANNED.

Now if I play these 3rd wave games offline, and then play other retail games online on my system would I still run the risk of being banned?

Maybe no one can assure but modifying the iso structure it´s very risky.Just update your firmware.
I'm lazy, i don´t want to open it again.But fuck live, i feel stupid paying for play online.

The crap part is u cant just cancel u subscription whenever u want via NXE , noooo here in holland at least u need to call those tards and tell them to cancel it.
However I just keep it cause well I dont mind the money (maybe its because i got enough need to spend it somewhere) but mainly got live for the demo`s I download and the updates and DLC.

just played about half of the butcher bay portion so far, trying to play it thru as a complete experience. Gameplay is identical to xbox version, visuals obviously alot sharper, looks about the same as the pc version as far as texture detail goes characters seem more dtailed than the pc version tho. With some added HDR, more dynamic lighting, and use of depth of field it looks up to snuff. Plays identical to the old version other than that. Will update once i get on the dark athena

yea from the main menu you can choose to jump straight into dark athena but i decided to revisit butcher bay and play it as one big game since its been at least 2 years since i played the original. Plus there's nothing out i'm interested in playing for another few weeks so taking my time thru this.

Seems to me they reviewed it harshley becuase its a rerelease. If anything its at least an 8 few things here and there are goofy weird texture glitches on characters heads sometimes but still game is pretty awesome.

DOH! I can't get this one to work. I must be on an older firmware then 1.4. There is an update on the disc that will not install. It installed the NXE from the patched ISO, but there is another update it's failing on. It can obviously read the disc because it installed to the hard drive, which i know won't work with a patched iso, but tried anyways. Damnit lol, going to have to dig up all my old shit. My new box isn't nforce chipset. Ah well....

You can install patched ISO games just fine.

Hmm well, it installed but i can't get the update to run. I followed someone elses instructions about updating manually via MS website and the update is marked 12-2007. Seems a little too old to be useful.

NM. Go it working, the nxe on the disc is only partial. Once i updated it via ms website/flashdrive - it works. About halfway through butcher bay again so far so good. Will update on dark athena when i get there!

bah, i have not been playing much xbox latly due to lack of time.. but do i need to have the new dashboard to play new games ?
i still have the very old dashboard and played godfather 2 without having to install anything..
