Phase one was a great surprise, phase two good, this one gets mixed reviews.I personally liked the demo and Gepard engine is very good again and improved.

The game was released a while ago it seems (There's a trainer for it on Cheathappens for example and I'm pretty sure it's being sold on Gamersgate.) but there hasn't been a "scene release" (or what to call it) of it yet.

There's not a single "Codename Panzers" game on gamersgate or steam for that matter.

I know its available on D2D. but may take a bit to be released on scene. Uses an online activation AND includes Tages. At least the digital version does anyways.

Confirmed the DVD version also uses Tages with a limit of 3 machine activation, any additional activation requires contacting the Atari's hotline for the permission to activate further. I don't think there is a revoke process, so basically the same screw job as Mass Effect's SecuRom. You know its bad when Steam activations become the best protection method in terms of consumer protection. :sigh:

Eurogamer Review
Spoiler: | As it stands I'm really not sure who this game was intended for. Anyone with RTS sympathies will be able to wring some pleasure from it, but no-one's likely to enjoy it enough to recommend it to a mate, devote a fan-site to it, or have its logo tattooed in a private place. We're fortunate to be awash with fabulous strategy titles at the moment, and unadventurous solidity like this, really doesn't cut it. If you must have fifties flavour with your real-time strategy, try playing World in Conflict on a black-and-white monitor while smoking a pipe, and wearing a knitted tank-top and a worried expression.
5/10 |

I think Phase 2 also had a pretty tough protection, maybe first versions of Tages.I don't remember well though.
Fragland gives a rate of 84%:
http://www.fragland.net/reviews/Codename-Panzers-Cold-War/1353/
I'm sure that game is better than a 5/10.Can't be worse than the previous two.

Bought the game on Atari website and it's worth every penny.
5/10 is just dumb.

You know the gaming industry has gotten ridiculous when you need to call a hotline to *ask* for *permission* to to install a game you OWN more than 3 times.
Fucking ridiculous. Fuck Atari, I hope they go bankrupt.

Don't buy the retail Digital download, the servers that verify your keys are not working for CPCW.
AND the '24/7 support' is bs, people still waiting from release date for a reply to fix their keys.

If you have the digital copy there is a folder under user\application data\tages that has the TAGES protection files & your actual game cd-key saved. You need to remove that folder, then try installing the new version thats out, see if that doesnt fix your issue.
I actually bought it *gasp* LOL
And it's FAKE !!!! Still asks for Serial KEY & Online Activation BEFORE you can play it.
On Russian site Before you can install it.
Attention!
Before running the file CodenamePan_CW_Setup, rename the bin files such as
CodenamePan_CW_Setup-1, CodenamePan_CW_Setup-2, CodenamePan_CW_Setup-3
That is the figure before the dash to replace the lower dash to the center.
There is NO Crack for this AND is unplayable until this is bypassed IF it ever will be.
