From the layout I suppose gamespot bought gamerankings? Because it now looks like gamefaqs.
And what about there only being 2 reviews for Ninja Blade?
Not that I care because this game is a "press X to not die" fest for the most time.

mind you, ninja blade isn't released outside of asia yet. yes, gamerankings is now part of the CBS network, but aside from the design going shit, i don't see anything wrong with it (at the moment, at least)

what im saying is, now they bought it, most games no longer have hundreds of reviews from sites. thats pretty shit, I used to use it to see what games are like - now I have to find an alternative which is unbiased, unlike this shit.

If you have a metascore site that offers a score calculated from 100 individual site review scores who says the result will be unbiased?
Seeing as all of those 100 reviews are gonna be biased in some way (maybe they just don't like the game, the genre, the publisher, whatever) the ending score will be biased as well.
And, seriously, aren't we all pirates? So grab a game and see if it's fun, or go ahead and rent it or don't.
Most of the big gaming sites are biased anyway and they are most likely the scores that will flow into a metascore first and often the smaller sites tend to use those as guidelines anyway (at least it feels like that to me)

We need imdb.com alternative for games. I don't care about fucking review sites score avarages, I want to see gamers rate their games.

You really have no idea how averages work do you. Since all the reviews will have different functions of bias, the mean review score will reflect none of them, with the lack of bias increasing as the sample size grows.

Yeah, I see the flaws in my wording.
I'm just saying that, take a highly hyped game for example, probability has it that the bias will be, more than usual, tend to one specific direction. Not saying it _always_ happens but mind you, might happen.
One thing you don't wanna forget is that you yourself are biased. You see a metascore for a game you're interesting in and you might think that it's highly biased. So who's biased now? But then again you wouldn't look up a score for a game you're hyped on anyway.
Granted, I'd probably wouldn't touch a game with a metascore lower than 50% but those games are mostly not the victim of bias - they just plainly suck 
Me? I stopped giving to much about reviews anyway. A game looks interesting from pics, videos, friends told you it's decent etc. I'm probably gonna try it.
Metascore sites are nice (in theory... well, when they aren't bought by gamespot )
but I tend to rather go with what gamers that aren't paid to voice their opinion tell me about a game

What I usually do is read nfohump posts about games and decide wether to play it based on those posts. And about 90% of the time my fellow pirates have the same taste in games as I do, so screw review sites!

I think I'll stick with opinions from nfohump forums and other such places. All "mainstream" review sites are more advertising sites than anything else.

And most of the people in the console section are jaded, spoilt, pirates.
There are only a few people on this forum whose opinion I trust.
