seemed to play better on consoles thats all. On a console it still looks pretty good, on a pc nothing special.. Tried the demo on the ps3 but opted to buy on the PC.. only to be disappointed by it...
Graphics for example.. they were pretty cutting edge when the original came out with the sequel they in no way pushed the PC as the first game did.. if anything it looked slightly worse with lower res textures etc..

Nothing for me this year. Instead, visit Rockstar often, give them whatever they want so they don't fuck Max Payne 3 up.

One of the endings of 2 left it pretty open, but after seeing the emo Max Payne in the artwork (ala emo Sam Fisher in DA), I have to admit, I am concerned.

What the fuck is with the artwork? Is Max Payne 3 going to be a cash-in-sequel which has little to nothing to do with it's predecessors? I am willing to bet my money on that after seeing the godawful artwork.

i finished the fucking thing last year and still had a blast , both of them acutally
and as for GTA IV , it's still sitting on my hdd cause of those stupid 'buddy buddy' fucking missions
eitherway , they'd better KILL OF MAX before they fuck the series up even better.
personally , i'm gonna wait for a trailer , but i'm not optimistic about this game , i was hoping that Remedy would have announced that they started working on MP3 alongside Alan Wake using the same tech (hopefully which they will).
the 1st game is and will be just awesome , it was dark , gritty with alot of gray in it , New York looked fucking awesome, the echos of wind through streets , screaming and yelling through cheap hotel walls , good stuff.
usually , every winter i finish the 1st game .. gotta love that Max Payne'ish winter

Vice City was the best GTA, after that San Andreas, which was awesome (except the "gangsta"-theme).
I hope that they use the old engine as it waas blazing fast and delivered superb graphics. Even today the engine looks pretty good and it runs flawless on any computer... Just add some fine overlay effects, a new physics engine and a new animation system and you're done.

You say that like it's simple. And no, the Max Payne 2 engine (assuming that's what you're referring to) simply wouldn't be up to snuff for a triple-A game, here in 2009.
Besides, I highly doubt Rockstar would own the source, or the legal rights to the MP2 engine.
I'd bet that farm that it'll use RAGE, just like most of Rockstar's recent games.

oh yeah , who else was bugged by the bullettime 'tweaking' in Mp2?
you could move as fast as without BT , in max payne the whole effect was better and more believeable , he could only react faster
in MP2 i rarely dodged bulltes like i did in the 1st game..

i agree that gta 3 and gta vc are better than gta 4, i also think san andreas is actually a great game if you ignore the ghetto setting/character, i also think gta 4 lives up to the other gta games BUT the only thing that is missing is the replay factor.
I think Rockstar have done a pretty good job with the series and to be honest the new one chinatown wars reenforces how good they can be when they put their mind to it. Now you give them Max Payne, which was always an overrated action game but has alot of fans based on the entire style it was sitting on and not just the gameplay, to one of the best teams out there that make games with fantastic atmosphere yet you aren't happy.
oh well when it's out and you're on rockstars big black penis riding it all day saying max payne is gr8 ill just sit back and masturbate

ok ill just say one final thing... i just dont think rockstar is mature enough to make a max payne game. thats really what im most concerned about. and dont confuse maturity with violence, oh im sure heads will pop off whenever someone gets shot in the leg, and there will be fountains of blood with every bullet hit, but i guess thats what im worried about. rockstar seems to aim their games towards the kiddies who think gore, swearwords and titties make the game.
i dont HATE rockstar really, in fact i agree, apart from the gangsta rappa angle that gta sa used, it was a pretty good game.. not vc or gta 3 quality, but a happy third place, especially for the scope of the thing... and i really liked the first gta psp game as well... my only problem with this is like i said, im not convinced they can do anything other than a loud, sweary, tit filled gore-a-thon of a game, which doesnt suit the franchise as far as im concerned... i hope they prove me wrong, but meh, we'll see.
