Too much maybe.

One "rule" is to usually not mix more than two colours.

Personally no fan of mixing red and green either. Wink

Really cool venue though.

I meant the lighting was bad for taking a picture, that's why it is a bit out of focus Wink With flash you get a focused picture of the crowd and you can't see the stage lights, without flash (how I took them) you get to see the stage lights and band but you need a real steady hand in a crowd!

I didn't mind the lights on stage. But you're right, they really went pretty all out with a lot of different lights, probably too much ...but it wasn't that distracting. I'm going to a show in the same place next friday so I wonder if that will be similar Smile

pendulum were promising in the beginning, but now they're going the wrong way. they've managed to go from a danceable but still aggressive sound to some commercial/casual oriented dnb. this is gonna backfire, though, when their new-found radio-listening fans will switch to the next trendy thing, as they always do.

sorry to pick on them, but i'm sure they could make better sound than they are.

went to an amazing show tonight full of sing-a-longs and lots of drinks Smile
http://www.myspace.com/thegaslightanthem

gunna post some videos to my youtube when I get around to it Smile same deal though, it's hard to focus giving this lighting from only even 50ft away so a few of them are out of focus :/ even in the videos I took just using a digicam there is no way to adjust focus or zoom while you're capturing it (I have a sony but my panasonic was the same).

oh, and Nailbiter you'll be happy to know the stage lighting was much improved and no more than 2 colours at once Smile but shit, you realize now that you've made me notice different lighting techniques at concerts ... it's just one more thing I might be critical of Razz

Thinking about it, I mostly like the effect of just well done white lights for a punk/rock show Smile

One of the most fun festivals I have ever been to.
Hot as hell, stoned and drunk as fuck, great sex with a stranger, last day the whole mob destroyed the main building in the entrance area and set it on fire, the catering and the promo crews got plundered... real fun Smile

and @newty... wow thats some generic shit... It`s so sad that people buy that crap...

edit2

Hehe. Tell me about it. Can´t go to a show anymore without #1 checking out the lights.

Pics looks great. Different light technician for sure. Nice beams. The haze seems to get cluttered to stage right, but that can be anything, like ventilation, etc. Focus points could have been more varied, for maximum effect, ie making cool patterns with the beams.

Really cool venue.

Put up some on youtube already. I want to see the technique the dude uses for the moving heads. Razz

contrary to popular belief this is folk music:

The music in your video is pop but slightly modified to sell better over here.

and I don't mean to offend you or anything but "music gender" made me lol

yeah, they're up there now, but meh .. not that many hits as the vids I post usually get. Still it's a great way to keep and catalog your videos Smile
http://www.youtube.com/user/jh01bk

the camera didn't do a very good job with the auto-focus from where we were standing and with lights that were not so intense sometimes it just focused on the people near us ... plus I was fairly drunk ... so some stuff is blurry Razz

and yeah, I love that venue ... it's about 100 years old now, and awesome place to see bands that ~1000 people would see (so not too big)
