|
 |
2-3 Months ago I was searching for a good company where I could absolve my internship for the university. I found a small IT company around here and they said later, that they would accept me and await my commitment in the next few days.
2-3 days later I wrote them an e-mail telling them, that I had some organisations to do and asked how much they'll pay, so that I could sort some other things out.
After their reply I thought about their offer and finally accepted. I asked them to send me the contract, so that I was able to sign it and tell my university about the internship.
They didn't sent nor answer me for fucking 8 weeks! My internship would start next week and TODAY I recieved an email from them, telling me that they would accept me and that I should come over next week...
WTF! Because I didn't hear anything from them I applied at some other companys and finally I've been accepted last week by the big company with 3 blue letters.
What did they expect? That I'll wait 2 months and stay calm till just 1 week before my internship is going to start?
And while the job interview they told me that I should tell them in time if I was going to cancel the internship...

Yeah the new company is paying twice as much and also give me a notebook to work with and just 4 days the week I've to write the other company though but I don't know how to start because I'm angry that they let me wait all the time and now they do as if nothing happened in the TWO months!

Sorry to get off-topic but what grade are you in? I was wondering when I should start eventually looking for an internship? Being freshman and all I still am taking all the basic classes and have no knowledge about my major whatsoever yet at least

True.
I've got a degree in IT with a multimedia twist (Multimedia communications actually).
My placement (UK, but same as internship) taught me pretty much everything I needed to know. Getting a good one is definitely the key.
I found my degree taught me the foundations but the placement taught me how to use them in the real world.
