Paid and waiting for my key now. Status on the site says "unpaid" but I guess it needs updating.

Pay for it manually. The instructions are on the main page.
Then email them the paypal receipt and your transaction ID for the order.

I already followed the checkout instructions :-\
Put in my info, chose PayPal, it opened in the PP window, I paid, then it went back to G2Play and said "Thanks for your order!"

That doesn't work. Check your paypal activity records. The payment doesn't show up. Same thing happened to me and I tried ordering half a dozen times.
What I did was pay for the item manually by sending the exact payment via paypal to the email address shown on the mainpage.
sales@dweurope.eu
After that, I emailed (or chat if you have gmail) the paypal receipt to g2playshop@gmail.com along with the transaction id of the order (or you could juts mention the name of the game) and got my key in a bit.

i actually bought portal seperately for like 12e - and even if it was next to the entire orange box for 9e, i would by principle still only get portal for 12e
only reason i pay for games is to support them.. and i hated hl2 and it's even more linear episodes
and tf2 is not applicable as i'm not a multiplayer

How should any of us know? Valve does not announce them in advance, so we won't know until the deal goes actually live on Steampowered.com.

For €3.75, I'll happily take the two Oddworld games ... they're just plain awesome!
.... shame I don't get paid until next Wednesday, heh. I'll see how much they are then.

Stop encouraging Steam by buying games from them. You should know better.. We do not use Euros!
As long as people keep buying from them (go ahead US and UK, but not the rest of us) - there will be no change in their policy.

I refuse to buy games that are not only more expensive than retail, but also grossly over-inflated on the "euro" nonsense. You can hardly say that getting the ENTIRE "Orange Box" for €9 or both, classic and awesome, Oddworld titles for €3.75 is a bad thing :-\
Nobody is going to suddenly stop buying games off Steam. It's too big for that now .. and you know what everyone's like; they're all mouth and no teeth anyway. A handful of people will boycott, the majority will just piss and moan -- yet carry on buying.
Gabe isn't going to change the situation mate, not after seeing how much money he can rake in thanks to the €=$ fiasco.

Why should you pay €9/€3.75 and others $9/$3.75? Don't know if this is the case here, but it would fit Steams policy nicely.
