Well me 2nd cousin just come around t o mine to see if i can fix his 3 red rings of death on this 360.
He already has 1 that works so he brought this 1 round that had the 3 rings problem.
I loaded up youtube, looked for the way to fix it by simply re-pasting the chips.
Done that.
And now i have a nice 360.
Nob bad for 30 mins work Razz

couldnt u have RMA'd it and got it fixed properly? is it flashed or really old then..

No, It's totally standard mate, not flashed nothing Smile

Totally works mate.
I just followed this guide off youtube.
Really easy to do, 1st time I've ever done it Smile

There's 2 parts 2 it.
Very easy to fix, basically, you just remove the old paste on the chips, and replace it with new stuff.
It's a heat problem.
Playing it now works flawlessly Smile
Does any1 know where i can get free xbox online passes from please?

Did Microsoft ever fix this heat issue on the new 360's? I never bought one, but curious if they got around to actually put the right heat sink and cooling devices in place. So pathetic on their part.

the only way to play online for free is to create a new gamertag and get the free one month trial that comes with it. you can do this a couple times.

Yeah just read something about that nouse, i did get a free months with my gamer tag.
Problem being I've only brothers in arms hells highway to play atm.
Can't believe there's no gears of war 2 demo the stingy twats.
Whats a good demo to download?
I've already tried these....
Ninja gaiden 2-great game love this 1.
Forza motosport 2- another top game.
Resident evil 5- looks good going to retry it.
Any recommendations ppl?

Flash it, stealth your games, play online. Of course there's a risk of getting banned, but since nobody knows how or why -- there's no telling just how large, or small, the risk is. Besides, the benefits far outweigh the cons (and I've survived two ban waves now)

I've been banned since the first wave and I still don't regret flashing my box. I did enjoy Live alot when I could play but being banned also removes the fear of BEING banned Wink

As ppl have said already, the benefits outweigh the risks. And hell if you do get banned you still have a perfectly fine offline console.
