Please, he catches a bullet for fucks sake. Plus he picks up and throws a 225lbs man about 10 metres through impact glass with ease. He looks like he weighs 200lbs or less, which means what he does is physically impossible for a normal human.

It's dubbed as : "All the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll whisper: 'No'"

Is it a phrase used by rorschach in the comics? So that they maybe did this wrong translation years ago for the comics..

Indeed, it appears that the original phrase is "whores and politicians," not "world." Smile

i dont look at it like that. to me its not a literal 'this shit really happens' type situation, its kinda 'metaphorically enhanced' i guess id call it, not to show him as actually being super strong, but rather to emphasize his overall 'power'.... kinda like those movies where someone jumps up and spins around 50 times kicking 90 ninjas in the head before landing, to me doesnt say he could actually do it, just rather show how much more powerful and skilled he is in 'relation' to the opponent.

but hey, whatever... you either enjoy it or not

black freighter is out for anyone who wants to see it. its animated (which i had hoped would have been live action, but its animted - but animated is good, it makes sense given that its a comic and meant to be surreal and not directly part of the core story, so it works), bout 20 mins long

Just because I believe he displays physical abilities beyond a normal human does not mean I don't enjoy it. Just that I prefer to make the assumption that he has genetically enhanced himself since it's implied a couple of times in the story anyway.

Given how the other 'hero' characters are exceptionally skilled at melee combat I find it hard to believe a normal human could outclass them so completely. This did not strike me as the kind of film that has 'superhuman' individuals as a standard, like the kinds of martial arts films I think you're referring to.

Wait he is genetically advanced? Do they mention this in the movie? Aw... Maybe I should have read the comic first. But I think I will do know. Or maybe wait till I've seen the DC which is supposed to be ~45 minutes longer.

In the film it's mentioned very briefly that he is a pioneer in genetic modification, hence his blue tiger thing shown near the end.

But it's never explicitly stated that he himself is enhanced, which they should have made clear considering the superhuman physicality he displays.

I hadn't considered it until reading this, but I imagine that Moore meant it to be left deliberately vague so that people would debate the true extent of Veidt's power, much like they do with the corporations that his character represents. Maybe.

still haven't seen the movie due to shitty out of sync crap out there

but I did watch the motion comic (even though male voice for females too Very Happy)
and the story goes beyond any comic book could ever dream of
it literally slaps every comic super hero in the face and sodomizes them with a giant truck
first comic story that isn't about good or evil, heroes or villains but something much deep and realistic

I'm going to watch this as well even though I haven't seen the actual movie yet. To me, it sounds like it is going to be an audio book with pictures. . . which suits me fine because i listen to audio books a LOT while I work.

They are acting as if the movie was shit. While they are most of the time right with their criticism, this fanboys are too harsh! The movie was well done and very entertaining, allthough it had some flaws but thats nitpicking.

PS: The gore was great and I was happily surprised Smile It was good to see that there was no stupid censoring, Dr. M.s dick was glowing blue Laughing and allthough they tried to hide almost each and every nippel they atleast showed them while they were having sex in archie.

Never read the novel/comic/whatever

Movie had the potential to be amazing, music was obnoxiously over-emphasized and honestly I would have enjoyed the movie a lot more if it had a written score and not just a top 70s pop hits soundtrack. There were a few scenes that were done poorly enough that they didn't convey anything and should have just been removed.

yea, i hated the music aswell.. it just didn't fit at all most of the time
sounded more like a thematic temp-track
perhaps the DC will have it different
the composed score is actually pretty good

The score was excellent, especially Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan which suits the theme and the three bob dylan songs is actually mentioned in the comic.

Two of them are covers only one sung by Dylan is Times are a changing in the intro.

Jimi Hendrix plays All Along the Watchtower written by Bob Dylan.

And my least favorite(I didn't really like it) is the cover by My Chemical Romance of Desolation Row

But the "song" that fits perfectly in the film, it's when the scientist is transformed into Dr.Manhattan, from Philip Glass "Koyaanisqatsi".
I was ashtonished during that moment.

Watch the movie first. You will be very entertained. Than watch the motion comics to get more background information. I've seen so many things in the motioncomic that weren't in the movie, so that the movie would suck more afterwards Razz
