Correct me if i'm wrong but they seem to be making an action flick. Dragonball is a comedy with action in it. The reason Dragonball works is due to the wacky characters, the storyline itself is ridiculous.
Sadly i'll probably check it out because i won't be able to help myself but if this turns out to be even remotely watchable i'll be chocked.

It does not come out until april in States but CAM version is already out...5.3 score on imbd..you either love it or hate it

thought it was actually pretty decent. 5.5/10 from me... it did quite a few things right, but quite a few wrong. atleast it wasnt a complete disaster like that chun li movie.

I'm going to watch it because i need to find out how they handeled the material. What made DB readable to me (i've read the manga, i havn't seen the anime) was the humor. The storyline was actually sort if ridulous but it was saved by the humor.
I thought they were joking when i heard about Gi Joe the movie and DB the movie haha, thats why i need to check both of those movies out.

well GI JOE looks fricken sweet i think, and its in the perfect hands, so i cant wait to see that film
dbz doesnt have the same level of humor as the anime does (havent read the manga, but yeah humor was a very strong theme in the anime) but there were a handful of typical 'goku' moments which i really enjoyed... just a pity the rest of it got swamped by poor dialogue and acting

I tried watching the cam, the release was awful. But the movie was even worse. Don't know why anyone would pay to make this movie (or to watch it).
Btw, what moron was responsible for casting this?! (retorical q..)

whatsup with these Japanese movies being remade with white actors as the leading role, like the Chun-Li movie (even tho she's part Asian, it doesn't count). It's like Japanese movies/cartoons being Americanized by some retarted Japanese directors, and being turned to huge piles of shit.
I thought about watching this just for fun (which really wouldnt be fun), but the embarrassment of someone catching me watching this would be worse than getting caught watching porn.

I just quickly browsed through the movie, and omg, it's horrible!!
Goku is a high school student!?!?!?
Roshi is visiting some guy and says NAMASTE?!?! - wtf, it this Lost or is this supposed to be an adaptation from a Japanese Anime! NAMASTE is Indian!!!
I wonder, did the writers even looked at the original work?!?
The movie is so horrible that you can actually watch it as a really cheesy comedy!!!

What the fuck are you talking about? James Wong, the director for this shitstorm of a movie, is NOT Japanese, he was born in China, and moved to the US at the age of 10. This movie, has NOTHING to do with the Japanese, except for the fact that it's based on a Japanese manga. It's an American movie, made by an American director with a Chinese descent.
I hate it when people confuse Chinese people with Koreans, or Koreans with Japanese or the like. There is a fucking difference between Chinese, Korean and Japanese people. It's like comparing US people to Swedish people, yeah, we may have some similarities, but we're not the same. Fucking learn the difference already.
