hey guys, my "gainward 8800gts 640mb" broke a while ago and i'm using my friends x1800 now. i need to buy a new graphic card and i hope you can help me. i have those two cards in my mind: EVGA GTX285 ( 334 Euro ) http://www.alternate.de/html/product/details.html?artno=JCXZP6& XFX GeForce GTX 285 670M XXX 1024MB ( 343 Euro ) http://www.hoh.de/default.aspx?TY=item&ST=1&IT=84132&CT=7540 ------------- Which one would you guys recommend? where is the difference between those two cards? Oh, and i think i'll need a new CPU aswell. I don't think that my E6750 has enough power for a gtx 285 =/ ... thanks - F

Why not go for the OC'd card? Thats what i would do. I just said in another topic, when i was looking at 780i motherboards, i found out that the XFX and the EVGA are exactly the same boards but with different brands printed on them. I wonder if its the same with other products.. Apparently Foxconn make a hell of a lot of components and then a company puts their name on it. the main difference is customer service and warranty. EVGA lets you rip off the heatsink and use your own, covers overclocking the card, customer service are americans,

xfx, I don't know, their pretty much the same from what I've heard.

Go with EVGA I'd say. Never dealt with XFX support but EVGA is great. Also they have the Step-Up program, which is an awesome bonus. Get which ever one cost less for you. I have the XFX one and its great overclocks like a monster.

for my last two builds I went with EVGA for vid cards. It's great! Lifetime warranty. I got their mobo and didn't read the instructions very well. They're tech support helped me very well and didn't call me an idiot even which is what I would have done to somebody that decided not to read the instructions very well.

i have the same card, it idles around 50C and fan is at 40% on auto, it gets to 80-85C while gaming during the hot day.

its a great card, my fps in games is really smooth.

youll be happy with the card
