Ati catalyst 4.12 are the latest one try those and not the standard ones but the Omegas. Another tip would be to try the Catalyst 4.13 betas.

i'm having the same problem actually, but it last more than 2 minutes for me. more like 20 i'd say. i remember having the same issue with cmr4 (and i've read about people complaining about such crashes in cmr4). however, which ati card do you have? .. mine's the 9000 pro (64mb, atlantis model), so i think the piece of shit is just over heating.. and i should probably better reword myself. the game doesn't just crash to windows, it actually freezes the computer. so Sad

I have ATI 9700 pro. i tried 4.12 with Omegas, still same shit. i think there is something wrong with ati which conflict with this game. i even put all the res in the game to the lowest but it didn't fix it.

i think i just might have the solution to your problem. it got to a point where the game only ran for 2 minutes at a time just like you were saying. so i was fucking around for a bit but i finally manged to get it to work for at least 3 hours straight now.

i'm pretty sure my vid card was over heating because i've had to replace the fan on it before and i doubt that the one i put it is good enough. however, this is what i did

- underclocked my agp bus (or whatever) to ~75% to reduce the strain on the card. (still playing the game on the same graphics settings i had before)
- went to ati display driver (under the smartguard tab) and turned "fast write" OFF. i think this is the one that did the trick for me. but since i did both at once, you might as well try both options

hope this helps. hit me back. pz

Try the fast write option first before messing with anything else.

If you eat 2 mints before you play Chronicles of Riddick and it crashes maybe you should try not eating 2 mints before playing and see if that cures the problem! Razz

Edit:
I know that is no help to you whatsoever but I just couldn't resist!

as romulaz said it is most likley the heat your card is overheating do you have it overclocked? is there enough air flow in your case? if it crashes at 2 min but not at any particular spot then its not software it's hardware

No my video card is not OC. i have 6 fans so i am sure is not the heat problem. as i said on my other post, i never had any problem before i installed SP2. i tried Anistrophy off and still crashes. all my games crash now( ET and HL2 which i played and finished it before) so some thing is conflicting with my Video card and it's driver. i am going to reformat my Hd again and instal VIA driver and SP1 and flash my MB Bios see if i still get that error. i let you guys know.

BTW happy holiday to everyone. Laughing

wow, that sounds like a lot work that you're gonna be doing there. however, it's definitly worth it, trust me. but hmm... when it crashes, does it crash to windows? or does it freeze the computer, having you to restart?
