Dear All,
I'd just like to add that we're watching all the threads reporting bugs and issues and feeding these into our own testing and patching process.
As we said recently another patch will be released early next week, which addresses several critical problems and more are planned beyond that point.
The reason we dont list every detail a patch will cover is because some problems, when investigated, turn out to require longer to fix and get moved into the next patch cycle.
Therefore we don't list ahead of time everything that will be fixed. Equally sometimes smaller issues get fixed very quickly and are included at the last minute.
Again, our thanks to those of you who are highlighting issues with politeness and patience, we're working hard not only to correct outstanding problems but to expand Empire's playability too.
Kind regards,
Kieran |

For the reasons I've given it's impossible to list even at the outset 'bugs fixed' because, they are by their nature, unknowns until we've fixed them. Naturally, as you rightly summarise, we look to major issues or 'Class A's' first. Those are game crash issues and blockers, naturally we class those as critical. Therefore if there is an outstanding issue of stability of this nature, please be assured that it gets our full attention. That prioritisation process is an internal one and it is decided by CA. Therefore communicating every line of code we inspect and/or fix is not practical or indeed useful. Every bug reported gets summarised, prioritised, reproduced and added to the test cycle.
Koolhan37 - You're quite right that there are serious issues to be addressed, and that's exactly what we intend to do, as outlined in my answer above. I'd also like to take this opportunity to highlight an issue of perception. When peoples copies of Empire are working, they are generally away playing them, not on the forums. Equally, those who have issues with their copy are rightly far more likely to be vocal in requesting a fix, in comparison to the vast numbers of people who are experiencing no issues and enjoying the game. This leads to a skewed perception, the bulk of posts will look negative and give the impression everyone is having problems with the game. This is simply not the case. A very small minority of Empire's players are having issues and we take that minority very seriously. Nobody wants to be told 'Well its ok for most so we'll leave it at that', that's not CA's policy and it never has been. Every single person who bought Empire deserves our attention and support, therefore we're following a rapid patch process as above and using Steam to help assist this.
My thanks again to all of you for your patience and courtesy.
Kind regards,
Kieran |

Once the annoyances are gone it will be a better game for sure.
I have the straights of Gibraltar and it's constantly blockaded by ships just being there doing nothing.
Same on other parts too.

Anybody? Anybody else suffering with this? The little video plays when I've captured all the relevant territories and then asks me if I want to continue or exit to main menu. If I exit to main menu then chapter 4 is still greyed out and not selectable??

Yes.
Whatever Razor screwed up in the original release is fixed with Update 2 (which includes the 0-day Update 1).

Well, for me it does. I haven't had one problem yet. No crashes or lock ups or whatever.
So let me re-phrase, my Steam copy (SF edition) works completely fine.

Well to be honost I don't belive they ARE legit.
I own it aswell on steam and I can concur like others have said. It works flawless. No lockup, crashes or bluescreens here either.
Just because someone complain about a game in the steam forum, doesn't mean they actually bought and payed for it.

Uhm, out of so many individual systems out there do you honestly believe there are legit users who are experiencing no issues whatsoever?

I'm legit yes and I have no issues what so ever and several others in this forum has stated the same.
But if you meant that with so many different systems out there, there wont be any legit customers with problems? Then yes, ofcourse some will have issues. I didn't claim that.
But he said, and I quote:
Not according to tons of legit users
How many people bought this game? well many..... how many different people do you see in the forums complain? You wont find the people with NO issues complain thats for sure.
Then of all the whiners in those forums I'm sure you can weed out a good deal using warez version, but still in the firm belief that the game is the fault and not their version.
Just like you find people in this thread actually complaining about game is crap cause it wont run with no crashes etc although they are well knowing that they are using the warezed version.

I'm not legit and I don't have problems. It's quite possible the issue lies with certain hardware configurations and legit / non legit is irrelevant to the bug, hence some with legit saying "us too", some with legit saying "not me".

Damn, after the update:
Seas are black.
Most building icons and army icons (only flag is visible, not the dude carrying it) have disappeared from the campaign map.
Any ideas fellas ?
Edit: Nevermind, restarting the game fixed it.
