I've seen that I need a software to search within the usenet. What would you recommend?
Is grabit or alt.binz any good?

5,95€ for 1 Month + 200 days retention and 10Mbit + unlimited download sounds good right?? That's cheaper than rapidshare

Anybody care to explain to me how that whole usenet stuff works?
For one thing, wtf is that retention I keep reading about? I somehow can't figure the hell out what that's supposed to be...

I'm thinking about to start using Usenet, but I don't know which provider I should choose. I'm from Sweden and got 100/10 Mbit, and I want to be able to download as much as I want and have SSL. GigaNews "Diamond" sounds good, but expensive.

You can max out 100mbit with Astra easily, no problems there.

"Unlimited DSL - $15 every month, No speed limit" that one? What is the differents between this and GigaNews "Diamond"? Do I get SSL with astraweb? One thing I don't understand is this thing with numbers of connections, can someone please explain?

Well, one connection (or even 5) may not max your connection, so you can allow your client to connect to the provider with more (10 for instance). It determines the number of sources you simultaneously download from. Another use for them can be to give them to your friend and share an account (you use 5, and he uses 5), but then you are dependent on provider support. Some restrict to only one IP, some don't. Giganews restricts.

Okey, thanks! So astraweb's "Unlimited DSL - $15 every month, No speed limit" is the way to go?

Is it necessary to use nzb websites or will I survive with only Newsleecher or some other client?

yes, I have no idea what I did before .nzb files (well I do, but it sucked).
www.binsearch.info = good free search engine (ie you know what you are looking for)
www.newzbin.com = good PAY indexing service (50cents a week or so), although I think you need an invite now to join
I'm sure some others know of decent free nzb indexing sites, but I use the above two.
