Great emotion in that game. |
Condemned was a much better and much scarier game than Bioshock. I liked Bioshock but at some point it became a bit repetitive.
|
I'll admit that it certainly was scarier. Personally though I hate it when a developer turns to the supernatural to scare you, it means they can almost show you anything on the screen then go "OMFG! A hallucination/ghost/psychic message/devil child! RUN! Oh wait it's not real".
It starts getting a bit predictable later on in the game, although it did a much better job at maintaining the sense of dread then FEAR. |
I sort of agree and that's because the supernatural approach has been overdone in the last 10 years or so. It can still be effective when used properly though like in the Silent Hill series (although some will disagree).

New details about the game, it's a prequel and will contain that older Big Daddy model that wasn't part of the first game.
(That one with the odd helmet and three lights.)

Got a link please, dvsone?
If it really IS a prequel, then it makes sense really. I figured it'd be too hard to follow-on from the ending (multiple thereof) from the first one. Ion Storm tried that and failed dismally.

Eh, JBeckman's link is the link. They updated it.
Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

I never finished it either - i really liked it at first but then it just got too easy. Seemed like there wasn't any point i would totally cheat and not use health or psi boosters i would just die and run back to whatever it was that killed me.

Install the latest patch, it has the option to disable vita-chambers, and play again on hard mode. For even more challenge try releasing instead of harvesting

BioShock 2 onthulling in PC Gamer

BioShock 2 anouncement in PC Gamer
Posted by the editorial department - monday 9th of March 2009
The first BioShock of 2k Games is known as one of the big hits of 2007. We cannot wait for the sequel. BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams will come out in 2009 for the pc, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Until now we have only seen a teaser trailer of this promising game, but according to PC Gamer this is about to change.
On the 'next month' page of edition 199 it says that the pc magazine has an exclusive first look of Bioshock 2. PC Gamer promises the first screenshots and information and if all goes well, issue 200 will appear in shops the 9th of april. It is to be expected that information will be leaked before that date.
there you go..

i dont understand the need for Bioshock2, since the box clearly states no 2 games will ever be alike?
j/k
imo, game should have been closer in feel to System Shock 2 like they plugged it... they just needed to make it in a facility like what we see in movies like The Abyss or Leviathan. the big city concept was strange. hopefully 2 will actually be scary and live up to its hype and promises, unlike 1.
oh, and did i mention its needs to have co-op?

I loved it, it was a great display of how utopia unfailingly turn into dystopia.

*sigh*
So how come there are "Big Sisters" in the PREQUEL game, yet they're strangely all absent and Dr Tenenbaum makes NO comment about them?
This is the inherent downside to making prequels, ffs. My hope for this game just dropped a few notches.
