Had same problem with my Pad , could pitch ok , but couldnt swing the bat at all. Decided to get it on PS3 instead as it uses Sticks on that to swing bat.

Xbox Controller on PC - Could not figure out pitching settings. Just to throw fastball or anything was a chore. Played for about 2 minutes - uninstalled. Garage. Skip this game as getting the controls to work is a chore..

X360 wireless here.Configured the first time left and right analog and everything is fine.Go to the tutorials and practice.Pitching is simple, batting is simple. You unistalled the game because you don't know how to pitch??this is plain stupid.
Game is even better than i thought.Patch and mods will really make the game even better.

Clicking advanced at the start begins the game? Now thats plain stupid. The music is aweful. Still cant even get into practice mode. Maybe a 100 page manual is needed to figure out the controls. Again, dont waste your time..this game is trash.

If you have a PS3 get MLB 09: The Show. MLB 2K9 is for people who don't own a PS3.

For those who can only bunt and pitch or whatever, you MUST hold down the set batter button until you are ready to swing then let go and hit the swing button.

Nothing wrong with the controls just need to know how to do the shit. I thought the game was broken at first but it was user error.
