anyway, guide for dummies :

1. Make a folder you want etw be installed to (if you havent already installed

2. Copy cracked content into hat empty folder (if already installed and have already, skip, or re-copy, whatever, aslong as the cracked files have been moved at least once lol)

3. Install into that folder. When asked to point to sid files, do as asked for dvd1, for dvd2 , point to _0,_1,_2,_2 in that order.

4. replace the sounds_sfx.pack with the demo3_pack from demo (rename it to sounds_sfx.pack, backup original if you want)

5. play !

-----

disclaimer : this will let you play the RTI campaign, at least so far for me. I DONT KNOW IF IT WILL WORK TILL THE END OR NOT. I also don't know (yet) if there are hidden triggers etc. I'll find out soon enough i guess.

----

seriously, its RIGHT THERE lol.

The legit retail game's sounds pack is on the torrents now, so the demo pack can be ditched. I've tried it and sounds seem to work just fine. Smile

So.. if the game was virtually bug-free and there was not any installation problems, are the reviews accurate or is it over-rated? There seems to be a lot of negative criticism in the steam forums that have nothing to do with bugs and installation problems.

Can you post your language.txt file plz ?
Oh, and \data\campaign_maps\episodic_map\pathfinding.esf ?

Using the ncfs posted (thx belsameth) we can validate with CF Toolbox and be sure which files are correct and which are not.

Fucking A' on the Sound update Bro. I rarely post here, but just wanted to say great work man. I think the crashing in RTI has something to do with the config files, cause if you don't add them in the scenario progresses, if you leave them out, or copy over again, it progresses. Eh, Someone will figure it out. Peace

Overrated like any other overhyped game that came out recently. But its not that bad. Ai is much improved over previous games and if you don't try to mess comps mind with a lot of flanking and cannons and provided that he has good army it can be challenging. On normal difficulty that is, on higher difficulties his units just gains a lot of extra morale and definitely also some strength upgrades.

Now bigger problems are game balance and online. Balance is fucked. Light infantry is completely useless, its not even worth having them around. They have on average half the heavy inf numbers, no good upgrades and are even bad in ranged fire. Even those of them that have good range bonus are easily overpowered. Line infantry and Guards with line firing ability kills them with ease and when you gain platoon firing its even worse. Cannons are weird, best one seams to be early mortar with exploding ammo?! Grenadiers are powerful, needs a little bit of micromanaging and they become deadly, especially their long range equivalent that Russians and some other factions have. Cavalry is good, I like how they are fairly good at charge, but square formation or direct fire deals with them, although I do think that because of their high speed, cav heavy army could still wreck havoc.

And were at multiplayer... They fucked it over and shown that all their promises about revamped MP part of the game were nothing but lies! Gameplay itself shows some promise but technically its much worse than shogun! Its same as previously only without no chat in lobby, low number of maps, no custom money setting, bad servers, a lot of disconnections, units getting stuck because of rocks on map and so on.

Thanks to whoever posted this piece of information:
Code:
3. Install into that folder. When asked to point to sid files, do as asked for dvd1, for dvd2 , point to _0,_1,_2,_2 in that order.

My game is now running fine, just downloaded the retail sounds from TPB.

Very Happy

Doesn't happen here at all? Sorry to hear that happens to you. Been playing for hours no crashes, single player, campaign, battle, sea, siege, whatever, no crashes.

Yeah I'm stuck in my grand campaign as the british because of a repeated crash to desktop. Playing my legal steam version. Looking over fan forums I see so many people reporting tons of bugs, crashes etc... This has really been a disaster.
